They are mondo expensive too for the quality of food. The only good thing they have are malts- and I won't be partaking in them EVER again.

Thats a big commitment from you...lol...At least judging by your av. sig.

Horrible food. Worse music. There was no worse period in American music than the 50's.
You're crazy. The cars in the 50's were beautiful.

We have them around here. They aren't that great, but are always packed out the freakin' door.

Oh well, maybe it'll be something for him to focus on and we can get a real GM for once.

:lmao: Good luck with that. Who's it gonna be? Cruise?

Seriously, that was when the real boom of design took place.

Jeez.

I heard Jerry played some college football. Maybe him.

Glad you think so. Have fun at the sock hop. Enjoy the sexual repression too!

Oh boo hoo hoo. Someone disagreed with you again.

If you're wondering why you can't score it's your attitude. Celibacy sucks.

Do you ever watch the Barrett Jackson auctions in Scottsdale, AZ? Man, some of those old restorations are amazing.

I went to Mexico on vacation in June. I saw so many greta old Chevies in junk yards down there. I would love, and I do mean love to find out how hard it would be to get them back in the stats to car refurbishers.

One for me though. It was a black '56 Nomad with no body damage. I was in love.

:p: While I am a lard, I'm not nearly as big as that guy- his name is fATAS (pronounced fate-us)- the f is lower case because he's a bit self-conscious about his weight.

Wow. Your sense of humor has gone out the window.

I've got no problem "scoring" -- but thanks for the advice.

I wouldn't consider the rise of hip hop exactly a great musical event.

It isn't totally my thing but as far as major cultural musical events it ranks very very high.

Sure you don't. ;)

Nobody can be that bitter naturally.

Well, in that case, the 50s almost certainly trumps as it marked the current development of modern pop/rock.

I'd argue that more recent bands like the Beatles, Stones, and (especially) Velvet Underground have done far more to shape the present state of modern rock.

Hip Hop still exists but that 50's style music ... well, you'd have to go to Johnny Rockets to hear that stuff now.

Albert Einstein didn't create the atomic bomb, but he gets some credit.

Hop hop still exists, but it doesn't resemble the 80s version at all. It may be closer to the 80s version than all other music is to 50s music, but all things being equal that just makes sense -- what with the passage of over half a century and all.

There were other forms of music that were prevalent in the 50's that aren't necessarily represented by Johnny Rockets. Blues, Jazz, Rockabilly, etc. While I agree with you that the rise of hip hop and the emergence of bands like the Beatles were monumental in terms of musical importance, I'd have to include some of the grumblings of the 50's less heralded musical forms, without which, the Beatles would have been sitting around scratching their heads.

Elvis, after all, came out of that era. Tell me he wasn't of any importance. ;)

Agree - I didn't say it wasn't important -- only that it sucked and referring primarily to the annoying music you hear in Johnny Rockets.

Who is this Elvis guy you speak of?
