So are we gonna cut our 4th rounder now?

Iceberg,

You do realize the first two preseason games are near meaningless. Particulary the second half when its mostly guys that are about to be cut!
Tell that to the players that are actually on the field at the time, with their entire lives as football players on the line, all their high school and college accomplishments, squeezed into 2 measly quarters of football, to impress the coaches, and hang onto a roster spot with the possibility of making $100k or more per year... as opposed to working a normal 9-5 and MAYBE making $20k per year... this is their chance to prove to the world that they have NFL caliber skills and are worthy of a roster spot. so yes, it is VERY meaningful for them.

It's pretty sad if all anyone has is hate to keep warm on a cold winter night! ;)

I'm may not know much about talent but Stanback has already shown more (intangibles) in his limited time than Austin. Austin hasn't even shown that he can catch the ball consistently let alone run disciplined routes.

If it came down to Austin and Stanback I'm going to take Stanback.

:hammer:

JJ has final say now that Parcells left on draft picks. Ireland may obviously have had input on the player. That was A classic JJ silly draft pick. He could have had that project 2-3 rounds later. Lis Franc injury and change of position questions.

Time will tell.

So Jerry did not have the final say when Parcells was here?

Some of you guys live in a dream world where the guy who owns the team bows down to one of his employees who have less championships than him.

Especially when both Jerry AND Bill said that Jerry had final say.

I think even Stephen Jones has been on record as saying that Jerry has final say if they did not agree.

I believe the TO signing had to get BOTH Jerry's AND Bill's approval, FWIW.

Yeah-Jerry had alot of the say. But I was under the impression that he nonetheless had to get Bill's sign off, like above mentioned, on alot of things.

Jerry said it many times he is the final say so. I'm sure he listened to Parcells and his opinion but at the end of the day it is Jerry who makes the call.

This came out of the mouth of both Jerry and Bill. Later I am positive Stephen Jones even said it in an interview.

They said if there was a situation where one person voted one way and the other voted another way...Jerry was the tie breaker. Jerry had final say.

Once again this was said multiple times by Jerry and Bill.

I honestly do not think Bill wanted TO at all. So let's say he did not but Jerry or Stephen did.

Bill No, Stephen yes...Jerry breaks the tie.

I am sure Jerry gave more to what Bill wanted. I don't think many would question that. But when it came to some decisions that were BIG Jerry had final say.

Jerry Jones has said the decision making on personnel is between the Head Coach, Jeff Ireland, and himself with input also welcome from any of the trainers, coaching staff, veteran players, as well as Stephen Jones.

Ireland and the Head Coach (whomever is in that office) are the decision makers and he breaks the ties if there is one. He has further said that if the other two oppose him he honors their choice.

The acquisition of TO was a unanymous decision by all 3 of the decision makers.

Even Skylar Green is faster than IS :D

Skyler is actually looking prett good in Cinci this season has 5 catches at a pretty decent average and has a PR avg of about 10 with a long of 38.

Was he really a bust?

For us he was....for Cincy he may work out and if he does good for him.

No. All he really did was play KR/PR and looked shaky for some reason. Not sure why because he did that his entire collegiate career and did exceptionally well at that. I think it was more of an attitude thing. Parcells rode him hard from the minute he got into camp, and I don't think he took it well. That and they thought Hurd was a better receiver in the short term and Austin was a better receiver in the long term. The former was certainly true, and the latter may or may not be.

Hostile,
Good points

Reach, gamble - to me is about the same thing and yes JJ is a gambler.

I hope the kid turns into a good NFL WR.

We all do. The posturing about it is annoying.

I'm not attached to any particular player...well, maybe Folk ;) so it doesn't bother me who gets cut.

The team will evaluate the players and make their decisions based on their observations and keep those who they believe has performed and has upside.

If Hurd or Austin gets cut, then so be it.

But my guess is we'll keep TO, Glenn, Crayton, Hurd, Austin, Stanback as WRs.

That's 6 WR's. I doubt that Dallas goes with 6 on the active roster.

I can see Stanback making the practice squad.

Why you persist is beyond me unless you are some troll of another team and just want to start trouble.

Stanback would get plucked off the PS the moment he went on!

Why should we cut Hurd or Austin?

Just because you think Stanback is the 2nd coming of Mike Irvin?

The moment Stanback shows us something, then we'll know. Then I'll be one of the first to welcome him to the team.

Until then, I rank him the same as Urban, Rector, and Richardson.

so you FINALLY recognize him as a WR on this team then??? good god, how long did that take?

owens
glenn
crayton
hurd
stanback
urban

my guesses for who stays. if we tried to get stanback to the PS someone would pick him up regardless of your numberous warnings of his lack of skill and not really a WR.
