he may not, but I guarantee the wife and kids aren't happy about missing damn near 200K in the bank. I'm sure he'll feel it. The life of a football player, his next game could be his last.Rack;1065863 said:5 games w/o pay is a joke. This guy has millions in the bank, he is NOT gonna miss those paychecks.
He should be in jail. PERIOD.
I'm sorry to have to agree with you - had this been a higher profile (IE bigger revenue generator) then I think the league would have responded differently. There's ALOT that goes on in the trenches that isn't even flagged, but this was obvioulsy after the whistle and intended to injure Gurode.Cowboy4ever;1066141 said:Here is my question,, Say Ray Lewis bust thru the line, sacks Farve,, bends downs, takes his helmet off and kicks him in the face. Does he get 5 games? I would bet he would get the rest of the season,, or banishment. The crime is the same, but because it was a relatively "low man" on the nfl totem pole and an offensive lineman, the guy only gets 5 games. What he did was a crime, a brutal attack on another person. Think about this, T.O. got 4 games last year cause he said his QB choked and he parked in the Coach's parking spot. Yea, TO is one of the real bad guys in this league,, but people that try to take someone out , perhaps end thier career, only get 5 games. It's sick and the NFL should be ashamed of themselves.

So doing drugs and beating the crap out of someone are almost identical?
Juke99;1066318 said:The reason, IMO, that the suspension isn't enough is because I heard his rap sheet recited on Total Access tonight.
He's got a pretty bad history with the Titans.
If he snapped, with no prior history, I'd be ok with the suspension. But that's not the case.
I was talking about the intentional incidents (Tie Domi's elbow, Dale Hatcher's cheap shot, etc.)Derinyar;1066774 said:The problem with comparing this to most hockey incidents is that most of the times those are nonintentional or both men are trying to beat on eachother.
Taking the time to remove the helmet before you start to vent your anger, or what ever term you perfer, seems to say your intent was to injure and as severly as possible. Gurode is lucky that nothing more serious happened, having a 300+ pound person stomp on your unprotected head can't have too many favorable outcomes.

Also that the Tenn police have contacted the Cowboys organization and told them that they were ready to proceed if Gurode wants to press charges but he needs to let them know.
They also said that this suspension is gonna cost A.H around 500,000
thats a good sum for him to lose, now Gurode needs to press charges...
JackMagist;1066637 said:This is close to what I was expecting. I was guessing 6 games and a 50k to 75k fine and I still think that is what it should have been. Cost this fool a quarter mil or more and it will get his attention. These guys make a lot of money but the IRS gets a third of it and their agents get 10% so they are getting a little more than half of their pay (something between 60 and 65 percent) to take to the bank. A quarter mil is a lot of money to a guy like him; he's not making QB money after all.
AS far as I have heard all he got was the suspension; he did not get a fine (please correct that if that info is wrong). So with what his reported (on the radio) salary is he will lose about 100k out of his pocket because the rest would have gone to the IRS and his agent anyway. I think they should have strapped a heavy fine on top of that suspension where he money would all come directly out of his very own pocket.
Also, I am normally against getting the law involved in sports. I don’t want someone arrested every time there is a fight on the field (or court or ice or whatever) but this was well outside the bounds of what can be allowed. As I understand it right now it is up to Andre Gurode as to whether or not to file charges. I think he should but it is his decision.
tommyboy10;1065925 said:He's losing under $200,000 for the fine. I think closer to $175,000 or so.

I dont think Gurode will press charges but I hope they make Haynesworth get himself evaluated. He said he has kids, what happens if he snaps?
