So is Jerry cheap? Does Jerry cave? Did Jerry get taken to the cleaners?

Can't agree. If you're going to hold out, what difference does it make if you actually hold out, or you get sent home? None.
The NFL is a horse of a different color in every way possible. Do you have an agent advising you?

You missed the point. There’s only a very small segment of the best talent in a position to force the issue by holding out.
Well then hold out. I fully understand that. My point is that holding in shouldn't be a thing. I don't care who you are.

I understand your point. But some of this isn't complicated stuff. You don't need an agent to tell you to drink water when you're thirsty.

It's all about the CBA. To not allow it would take a huge agreement between the NFL and the NFLPA. And that is at the very very bottom of their list. Most likely isn't even on the list.

This is complicated. Drinking water is not close to being fined 10 grand per day for not showing up.

Nothing about the NFL is a normal situation.
Possibly not. But there are some businesses who have top notch talent that hold it over their owners head using their outstanding production as leverage.

Some people just have a problem with the most talented and productive earning more and having more privileges.

He paid exactly what the market would pay for statistically the 2nd best WR in the league......all he accomplished was unnecessary media attention and a player at higher risk for soft tissue injury with only 2 weeks to play.

That's our GM

Not anymore. They changed the rules.
I wasn’t aware. That only applies for rookies now.

And it’s 50,000 a day now. Well it cost Lamb about 1.5 million after his 30+ million signing bonus and 100 guaranteed. I’d say he came out.

This is not a CBA thing. It's a technicality. They allow it. Most union jobs wouldn't. There's not a union job on this planet that allows you, in writing, to come in to work and do nothing and suffer no consequences. Or else everyone would do that, including myself. The teams allow it because the player is a star. Make no mistake, it's not written into the CBA.

Chase doesnt want to be fined, so he is at training camp, he is at practice, but he participates in activities the same amount as you and I.
It's completely ridiculous.

Try going to your job and refuse to work until they give you a raise and just hang out with everybody else that's working.....they'd have you escorted off the premises.

Pro sports are fantasy land where the lunatics run the asylum and in no way shape or form represent real places of employment.

Perhaps Hollywood would be the closest comp to pro sports.....more fantasyland

There are other professions which have to cater to these divas and sought after talents .

Much like the off field problem players. Only the best talents are tolerated. The rest are dumped.

Correct. I worked in a union shop for many many years.......you have to merely "appear" to be working to maintain one's job

TSA is a perfect example that many can relate to.....never have so many underacheivers collected so many benefits.

Most fans can’t relate to dealing with these celebrity talents. It’s a completely different set of rules.
