I love you knee jerkers who think one bad game in college means a guy will flop.

Premature evaluation strikes again.
Name one good defense that he's done well against. Heck for that matter, name one good defense that Quinn has played well against.

Quincy Carter had a 5 INT day against an average South Carolina team in college. I guess that didn't shake your faith in him.

No, but then again he played well against the likes of Florida and LSU, so that more than makes up for it.

Which teams up in Canada did he play against?

You know im not a big fan of Brian Brohm but I can't stand it when people want to write off everything a player has done through his entire carreer because of 1 game.

It was 1 game.

Every player is going to have a bad one.

It's not that it was one game to me, it was that West Virginia had a horrible pass defense and no one else on his schedule is any good. I'm not saying he's not any good, I'm saying he's overrated because he put up his numbers against inferior teams.

What do you mean Kartr? Like he did against Miami earlier this year? 10/14 71.4 Comp%, 181 yards, 12.93 YPA, 1 TD, 0 INTs, 137.5 QB Rt.

Like he did against WV? 19/26, 73.1 Comp%, 13.62 YPA, 354 yards, 1 TD, 0 INTs, 127.9 QB Rt.

The guy is like 24 and 4 his entire career at Louisville.

His career stats are 388/588, 66.2 Comp%, 5488 yards, 9.1 YPA, 31 TDs, 11 INTs, 105.2 QB Rt. and he still has games to go.

Yeah, he folds like origami. He pretty much sucks.

WV's offense is good and their defense was horrible. Urrutia was allowed to run free the entire night. How can I give Brohm credit for the Mountaineers inability to cover Urrutia. The way their defense played, any half-way decent qb could have put up those numbers. As for Miami, their offense stinks and their defense gets tired. If I remember right, Miami has been so bad lately, that there are fire Coker web sites, so forgive me if don't count them as a good team anymore.

You're right. Rex Grossman and Andrew Walter are NFL starters, so they must be good. Based upon those facts, the NFL must be a lot smarter than me. Yeah, aren't the Raiders, Cleveland and Tampa and Detroit doing great at the qb position since they didn't sign Carter.:laugh2:

One bad game and he's suddenly a bum? Hmm. Maybe we should have taken Peete over Aikman.

Oh and another thing.

I gurantee you USC (as much as I hate them) is capable of beating both Michigan and OSU.

I really cant see how someone can just definatively say "Michigan/OSU" is head and shoulder better than everyone else.

- Mike G.

Michigan/OSU have established stars at every position on offense. Booty is a first year starter and so is the rb, whoever he is. Ohio States defense is actually more talented than last year, they're just unknown.

West Virginia beat the SEC Champion Georgia Bulldogs in UGA's back yard last year. WVU pretty much returned all of their starters. There's no doubt in my mind that Rutgers and Louisville would survive in at least the SEC (although I think the SEC is consistently overrated).

I think last year's UGA team was as good as any of this year's SEC teams if not better. So if Rutgers can go out and beat Louisville and WVU, they are completely legit.

YAKUZA

Let me get this straight, you think LSU,Auburn and Florida are overrated because WVA beat Georgia last year. I don't make the connection.

While I don't think it is fair for this thread to be made after one bad showing, I am of the opinion that Brohm won't make a great NFL QB. He might be servicable, but he has some footwork & mechanical stuff I don't like at all.

JMO - I've been wrong many times.

I agree, one bad game is not fair, but I made this thread for those here on the Brohm bandwagon. There are plenty of pretenders, like Palko and Stanton and yes Brohm that too many here look at their inflated numbers against inferior competition and want us to draft them. Hasn't anyone learned anything from Bledsoe? It was just a few games ago, that people were saying that he's the best qb we've had since Aikman, yet he loses job due to performance to an udfa from Itty Bitty U.

I'll tell you Brain, this might be the best Michigan team I've seen. They are just dominating in there front four and with there OL.

I agree that Florida has the inside track right now but I don't know that I would say that if they win out, they are in. Let me tell ya, they better hope they don't have to face Auburn again because I think they might get smoked if they do. If they play Arkansas in the SEC title game, to me that's not going to help them much in the BCS ratings. Arkansas is good but they have really over achieved IMO. They have not played a great schedule IMO and they have played a lot of close games in the SEC. 21-19 over Vandy, 24-23 over Bama, 26-20 over SCar and they got stomped against USC 50-14. They did beat Auburn, which is important but they still have the Vols, MissSt and LSU left and then the SEC Title game. I don't think Arkansas is going to win out. If they don't, then it's probably Auburn and that's bad for Florida IMO. The other thing that could really hurt Florida is if they don't kill FSU. They have to win convincingly IMO or it will hurt there BCS ranking. That's a rivalry game that could kill Florida. Auburn is who I would be more affraid of in the SEC.

As far as Texas goes, they have KSt. who they should really be able to beat, then TAM who should be a ranked opponent in Austin and then the Big 12 Championship game. That will either be Nebraska or Missouri depending. Nebraska is really the only team who has played Texas close (outside of OSU of course) but I watched that game and I doubt Nebraska is going to get a snow storm like they did in Lincoln. I don't see either of those teams having a very good chance of beating Texas. Interestingly enough, the Oklahoma lose to at Oregon really hurts Texas. Oklahoma should be 8-1 with it's only lose to Texas. Oregon should be 6-3 going into the SC game. This really hurts Texas because right now, they would probably be the number 3 team in the country in all polls. I look at Texas' case for a national championship game and I see it as compelling. They are ranked higher in every poll, except the BCS, then anybody other then Michigan or OSU. If OSU wins, then you have Colt McCoy (highest rated QB in the country) in a rematch with the whole how far has he come angle against possibly the Heisman Winner with Smith. Also a National Championship rematch from last year. If Michigan wins, then the loss against OSU is not as big an obstical to put Texas in a championship game and you also have the Rose Bowl rematch from 2004. Either way, I can see a good angle on Texas.

You sound like a Texas fan.

kartr just got schooled.

I think not. Brohm has no more than 1 td in any game he has played this year and just 6 tds in 7 games, plus, his team beat K-ST without him. He's the 25th rated passer behind Troy Smith at 6 who you don't want.
JaMarcus Russell is the 5th rated passer who is tall enough and big enough, who you don't want. He's also behind Erik Ainge, Zac Taylor and Pat White, a running qb in efficiency. Schooled me. I think not.

And Jones still picked him!

Jerry....:shoot2:

And he's the only playoff qb this team has had since Aikman. He also tied Aikman's record of 6 straight 200+ yard games passing and the only reason he didn't break the record only because Jerry benched him for a guy who Parcells said can't play. Carter tied Aikman's record in just his second year, and he did it in the Campo era, without help from quality WR's like Irvin,TO and Keyshawn. We could have went 8-8 at worst that year and possibly won 10-11 games because we had already played our toughest competition. Jerry cared more about selling jerseys and t-shirts than winning football games, that's why we're in this mess now.

I want a qb who can win at this level consistently and scare the heck out of the opposition. That is my agenda. Brohm is overrated, and it was proved last night by Rutgers, who are not in the same class as Ohio ST. Michigan,Florida,LSU,USC,etc.
