Yeah, he doesn't hold a candle to your boy does he HH?

Reggie McNeal -

38 TDs his entire career at A&M.

Colt McCoy -
29 TDs his Freshman year.

Plus, he aint in jail so you know, there is always that.

;)

Correction: My QB is Stephen McGee, you know, the one that has molested the #1 ranked rush defense in the nation two years running.

Oh, and he can take a hit. Cart McCoy cant.

I know a lot of you want him to be our next head coach. After last night's loss to Boise State, I guess the shine is off Stoops big time.

Hands up for those of you who want a guy that lost to a WAC team and whose defence couldn't hold a lead with one minute to go?

He'd be a viable candidate for NFL HC?
And after a particular, close bowl loss to a highly rated team, that takes the shine off of Stoops?
Hmmmm. Let me think about that. . . .

A question: Had he won last night you'd like him as our HC?

By the way, my hand is up. :D

Stoops just won Big 12 Coach of the Year..[/QUOTE]

That may be the most worthless award in the history of awards. The Big 12 was a freaking joke this year.

Kind of like how they treated Barry Switzer. Stoops will probably stay at OU, unless Jerry's money starts talking loud. LOL
Sorry we treated the great Barry Switzer so bad.

Heheheh, well I never wanted him in the first place. He could be like Saban, stay two years and then leave.

I'm not an OU fan, but Stoops did a great job this year.

His starting QB gets kicked off the team to start the year....so he has to go with a guy that got beat out by a Freshman.

His team got royally screwed against Oregon....possibly costing them a shot at the National Title.

He lost all-world RB AP for a good portion of the season.

Not bad....

And yes, his team got beat last night. But BSU is a good team. Folks need to wake up and realize that the "weaker" conferences aren't as "weak" as they used to be.

I admired the way his team fought back to take the lead. They didn't quit.

I'm not sure if I'd want Stoops or not, but he'd be a better HC candidate than Campo or Zimmer.

Fought back? Damn, they were given the ball on the punt after it touched a Boise State player and then the Boise QB gave them the lead with that atrocious interception.

Yeah fought back....

Anytime you're down 18 points late in the game and you take the lead, it's called "fighting back".

It would've been easy for the Sooners to pack it in, but they kept hustling.

And I've never understood the "atrocious" or "terrible" INT thing. All of them suck. Why was Zabransky's INT any worse than the three Thompson threw?

It was a great game. Both teams played hard and didn't quit. Both teams had every opportunity to quit.

Again, I'm not an OU fan.....I could care less about them. But many on here appear to have an agenda one way or another and want to downplay or prop up any accomplishment of certain teams (OU, UT, TTU, T A&M, etc)....So many refuse to see good play when it occurs.

Oklahoma gave them the ball inside the 20 with a fumble as well and the Oklahoma QB threw a pick six the otherway as well. So let me get this straight if a Boise QB throws a pick six its giving the it away but if Oklahoma throws a pick 6 its because Boise played great D? You can't have it both ways.

Now where did I write that? Where?

He stated they "fought" back. Hell, they were only back in the game due to Boise State basically letting them back in.

So what?

Does not change the fact that Stoops was probably coach of the year in the NCAA based on what they accomplished with all the obstacles thrown their way...........

OMG! OU lost to Boise State, well, Stoops sucks now....please, the knee jerking at this site by some posters is laughable.

So Boise was only ahead because Oklahoma let them? Lots of players letting other players score last night. They stayed close and got a break and yes they fought back did you not see the drive and two point conversion to tie it 28 all? That was fighting back.

Except our game was pretty much meaningless and the other wasn't.

Personally, I see no correlation between the two games.
You lost all your credibility in this thread with this non-sensical and backwards post.

A 5 page thread on Bob Stoops. This is a Dallas Cowboys website. There must be alot of Envy here. Lord knows he probably wants nothing to do with the Dallas Cowboys. Like I said earlier he is an Ohio guy he turned down Ohio State and the Browns why does everyone want to make him the next coach here. I'm still waiting for the 5 page Chan Gailey or Larry Pinkel thread.

It's logic.

You said that OU was only in the game because of miscues by BSU. So it stands to reason that BSU had a lead based on three picks by Thompson and other mistakes.

I'm just trying to figure out how a game that was (at the time) integral to our hopes of winning the division is less meaningful than one of the 50 annual bowl games that has nothing to do with the National Championship.

The media is taking the David and Golaith stuff and running with it. Those that truly know college football know how good Boise State was. It was an incredible game but it wasn't that big of an upset. You want the truth, you go to Vegas. Oklahoma was a touchdown favorite and lost by 1 in OT. There were bigger upsets this bowl season.

Dude get your facts straight. LSU beat Oklahoma 21 to 14 in the 2004 Sugar Bowl. How in the hell is that a manhandling or blowout? When a team has a chance to tie the ball game extremely late in the 4th quarter, most people, (er check that) most sane people would not call that a manhandling or blowout.

revisionist history eh?

LSU physically manhandled OU that night...it was OBVIOUS who the better team was then
