I know a lot of you want him to be our next head coach. After last night's loss to Boise State, I guess the shine is off Stoopes big time.

Hands up for those of you who want a guy that lost to a WAC team and whose defence couldn't hold a lead with one minute to go?

Since the 02-03 Season, this inferior team has gone:

02-03 12-1 (Lost to Arkansas)
03-04 13-1 (Lost to Oregon State)
04-05 11-1 (Lost to Loiusville)
05-06 9-4 (Lost to Georgia, Oregon St, Fresno St and Boston College)
06-07 13-0

In a five year period, that's 58 and 7.

In that same period, USC is 59-6. Texas is 55-9 over 5 years. Ohio State is 56-5. LSU is 50-13. Auburn is 52-12.

I mean pick the school and these guys are right there over the past 5 years. Boise State aint no joke anymore.

Hmmmm, didn't OU get screwed by the refs in the Oregon game? Anyone care to debate that farce? OU will have a real QB next year, so things should be better. I thought OU won the Big 12 Championship game, that must not be a big game. Face facts boys, we'd be in far better shape with Stoops than Parcells. I pray BP retires or is FIRED. Oregon was a suck team...OU shouldnt have had to depend on officials to win or lose a game vs a 6 loss team

Stoops is a whiny loser...he blows big games left and right and got outcoached again badly last night...if an NFL team ever hires him, it will be a waste of money because he will fail

OU is the 2nd winningest team in college football since Stoops took over (second only to Boise State)

OU has been to 3 national championships in Stoops' 8 years..

Stoops just won Big 12 Coach of the Year..

OU...mutliple losses to undermanned Ok State, blown out by K State in a Big 2 championship game...blown out by LSU in a nationa title game...blown out by USC in a national title game...humuliated in a BCS bowl vs a non BCS conference team

Stoops blows...other than the FSU win (vs an overrated FSU team) and a couple wins over an outmanned Texas team, this guy hasnt done jack

Over the last 5 seasons, OU has gone 54-13. Very respectable indeed but still not as good as some of the other top programs in the country.

I do not post comments usually, but now I feel the urgency to do it.

I have read so many therads about Bill Parcells being fired or leaving Dallas...I personally do not want it, but finally I have to accept it is a strong possibility. If that is the case I do not think Jerry Jones will bring a College Coach, so we will not see Stopps on the Cowboys sideline next season. If Jones decide to make a change he will bring a person with NFL experience.

I'd wager that Jerry does bring in a top college coach, be it Petrino, Stoops, etc. Jerry will go the way he feels most comfortable. After this Parcells fiasco, I'm not complaining. This idea that college coaches can't do it in the NFL is bunk. Plenty of highly touted NFL assistants with no head coaching experience fail too. I'd prefer someone who has been the top dog, college or pro.

I don't know about that. I mean, I understand what your saying but to me, the level of football is getting better everywhere. More athletes coming from better youth and HS training programs. Better coaching, better facilities, more camps, better strength and conditioning programs available, better diet. There are just more good football players available now IMO. that together with the fact that big time programs can no longer sign 150 guys and keep talent on the bench. Now, you have TV everywhere. You don't have to go to a top 5 program to be seen. Helps but not required. Football is just getting better everywhere IMO. Of course, the other side of that is that the top programs still get the top athletes and Boise St. is not one of those programs. However, they get it done with 2nd tier type athletes so you have to factor that in as well. They are a well coached program that understand the fact that each player has to play to potential in order to win consistantly. They do that at Boise St. I actually get a chance to see them a lot and while I agree, they are not a top 5 program, maybe not even top 10, they are good. They can go anywhere and play with just about anybody. No question to me, OU is down this year. That combined with Boise State's rise and you get a game like we saw last night. I have a lot of respect for OU. I hate em but I certainly respect them. I also have a great deal of respect for what Boise St. has accomplished over the last few years. One undefeated season and three 1 loss seasons in 5 years is something in any conference. JMO of course.

Jesus aren't we a little full of ourselves. Whose to say he would even want the Dallas job and have to put up with a hands on owner. He's an Ohio guy not a Texas guy remember and he turned down Ohio State and the Cleveland Browns, not to mention Florida as well. Until Parcells took the job with his credibility the Dallas Cowboys job was dangerously similar to the Oakland job.
