Sobering statistic

It's all Romo's fault. Do you know how many high draft picks we could have had for the past 10 years if it wasn't for him?? How many new coaches? ;)

Indictment on Garrett. Not sure how you can see something like that yet still defend him erod. The man has been here for nearly a decade yet still is highly dependent on one player. Something isn't right about that.

So what did it say about Bruce Arians when Carson Palmer went down last year? They fell apart after looking like the best team in the NFC.

Arizona made the playoffs and won their first round playoff game with a backup QB. This means Arians knows how to coach and win games with backups or NEXT MAN UP.

No, they didn't win a playoff game, and they finished the season 2-5.

The past 23 games, the Cowboys are 14-3 with Romo, and 0-6 without him.

The dude is simply underappreciated and underrated.

Here's hoping Cassel can stem the tide and resist the undertow.

Imagine his record if he didn't wear his cap backwards.

Actually, Arians won six games that season with his backup, Drew Stanton.

Stanton went 5-3 as a starter and 6-3 in games he played for Arizona last season, including a 4-0 record in games he played at home.

After Stanton went down with a season ending injury, and Arians had to rely on his third string qb Ryan Lindley, they lost the last two games of the season and the Wildcard.

Shhhh, that makes Garret look bad

And if you watched those games, the offense was horrendous with Stanton. Just awful. They won a few games because of Todd Bowles' defense.

Arizona scored 14, 3, 18, 17, 12, 6, 17, and 16 to end the season.

That number is actually 14-2 in games that Romo started AND finished, and 0-6 in all others (Washington game last year)

I watched most. I live in Phoenix.

Didn't our defense hold New York's offense to 13 points on Sunday?

Look. I don't expect Garrett to be as good as Arians. Arians is one of the best coaches in the league. But he should be able to win one game without Romo (and certainly the one where the defense held the offense to 13 points, the team was coming off a bye and their opponent had a short week).

I was wrong. But they still made the playoffs. Give Arians a lot of credit. He has proven to be a HC who can deal with any obstacle without worried about excuses.

There is a lot of players and coaches you can blame for this slump and Garrett is high on the list. He has to be accountable for the penalties and performances or lack thereof. Excluding the Pats, we have the talent to win some of these games we have lost and you have to prepare the team for anything. In Garrets words "we prepare for anything that can happen on the field". We'll the worst has happened and there are still no team cohesiveness, defensive improvement, and focus. Trick plays can only get you so far and eventually your going to have to build a strategy to beat a team in the trenches. it just seems our first half play is competitive and second half play is abysmal. That trend IMO is a coaching issue.

I stopped arguing Romo stats and records with my Iggles and Gnats fans coworkers because all they ever do is say how many Super Bowls has Romo won.

It's not worth the kick to the head that I would like to deliver every time they say that.

The Pats were able to go 11-5 without Brady. The Squeelers were able to win games without the Rapist. As was pointed out the Cards won with a bevy of JAGS at the QB position. AND it is winning that matters not how many points are scored.

Yet here we cannot eke out a single win without Romo. THAT IS ON THE HC. And on the GM for not getting a better backup QB. I remember that Garrett was the one that wanted to keep Brad Johnson as a backup.
