Absolutely. I was merely refuting the statement that Pollard hadn't "ever" been a bell cow. Simply pointing out that he had some games w/ a lot of touches.

Like I said, "bell cow" to me means a heavy dose of touches for a whole season or more. Emmtt was certainly a "bell cow", as was A.P., for example, having a lot of touches a couple of games doesn't qualify to me as being a "bell cow", so in that sense Pollard was never a "bell cow", but everybody can have their own definition.

Sorry...I had to start a new thread...because I don't want this point to be lost. Some of you all...with 10,000....15,000....20,000+ posts on this board...your LACK of understanding the game of football is down right embarrassing. And it's not about us all having to agree on everything....we should and we do RESPECTFULLY disagree with one another a lot. But there is a difference in disagreeing...and debating with people who simply don't know the game. And maybe EVERYONE on this board THINKS they know the game...but many of you don't...and you lead people astray who admittedly are here to learn from people here that are SUPPOSED to know the game.
Alot of members (as yourself) forget this is a family forum. There are many young fans as well as older ones that love the Cowboys. Everyone has their opinions when it comes to football and the Dallas Cowboys.

No ones opinions of the game are right/wrong. Everyone interprets the game in the way they see it. That doesn't mean they dont know the game, they just see it in the way they do know it.

There are so many different topics outside of football on these boards where how many posts someone has is definitely not a factor. There are also members who are lonely and posting on their favorite teams boards keeps their insanity/wit about themselves.

Best way to fulfill your self esteem and saying members are embarrassing to you, is to single them out and put them on the best option in here....IGNORE.

Sadly, you LACK to understand your fellow members/posters on these boards. https://cowboyszone.com/threads/the-greatness-of-ignore.436993/

One of the biggest things that many of you are missing....when you point to what Darren McFadden did...or what Alfred Morris averaged per carry...or what Pollard has done so far.....is NONE of them...force the defense to make a business decision. All yards per carry are NOT equal. All 100 yard games are not equal. All 1000 yards seasons are not equal. We all know about Zeke's ability to run, catch...and block. But late in games...especially when the season starts to drag on...peoples desire to tackle Zeke plays a big part in wearing down a defense. So it's NOT just about how many times Dallas runs the ball...it's how many times do they run the ball with a RB that makes the defense tap out.

This is why you can't always rely on statistics alone. That is not to say statistics are useless, they have their place. But they can often be used to paint a false picture. It is why statistics is considered one of the three types of lies.

Different era. Jim Brown was bigger than everyone trying to tackle him. Campbell was not nearly as fast, agile or creative as Zeke. The speed and power Zeke generates...the size of his head...guys do not want to get and stay in front of him late in games. Not all "physical" runs are created equal. Zeke is physical....we speed, power AND agility.
Brown played at 6-2 232 most Linemen were only 240 back in the day LB's were at most 220 & DB's were only 185 on avg so you are right it is a far different game back then !

Often players put up huge stats in garbage time when the opponent goes into prevent. Like Brady's garbage 50 TD throws. I'm so glad PManning broke his record, because too many of those were in garbage time.

Campbell was faster and more agile then you might think Bailey. When Campbell came out of Texas, he had wheels. Now later on, after he had been beaten down, he was not a 4.4 guy but early in his career, he could move pretty good. He also ran with much more power. One of the strongest backs I've ever watched play.

Little off topic, but I don't remember seeing anyone catch Earl Campbell from behind in his prime. He was fast.
He's the best running back I've ever seen (sorry, Berry Sanders).
Too bad Bum Philips' offense shorten his career. I think he was in the league less than 8 years.

While I can plainly see the cerebrally forwardly illuminated path,of which you & @bbailey423 travel, there's always gonna be an overwhelming factor of statistical purists amassed from across the void, whose gonna' simply label you're reasoned depth of considered viewed opinion as to amount to a heaping bunch of ilrreverent
