From Farmers Branch, where our schools don't monkey with reading and the arts when our kids need real-world experience in auto mechanics, heating and air skills and trailer-hitch assembly, Air Cowboys America, winner of no Peabody Awards and darn proud of it!
Next up: Audrey's Campfire Cooking Show, followed by Cage Fighting fantasy league and Nick's Small-Appliance Corner.

:starspin :starspin :starspin :starspin :starspin

Mens, persons of interest, pawns of capitalism and hangers-on:

Iffin the front office don't anser, the good people here can.
So, tell me:

Is RW a starter because he is good?
Is RW a starter because he is the best we have got opposite Austin?
Is it because we gave up A LOT for RR and Jerra feels we have to get our value back somehow?
Is RW still a starter because of reputation only?

OK, you ask, "GimmtheBall, seer of all, font of daily blessing for us, who would you put in his place, if we could be so bold?"

Answerth I: "Mens, you may rise from your submissive stance. Well, let's see. We have three youngsters who need playing time, exposure. Crayfish, Hurd and Ogle. (Hey, YoMick, instead of sitting there like a bump on a hog, go git me a Mountain Dew and git one for your little geek self!) I would put Ogle in opposite Austin in a heartbeat. But that would be the naive, impetuous though prescienct self in me trying to mimic Jerra.
No, the lad is totally inexperienced, love the guy as I might.
I would have to say to reinstate Crayfish. You know that journeyman who talks a lot but still contributes. The one who few feel the need to defense closely and then, BAM! he takes one for 20 yards.

Yes, I say, reinstate Crayfish and use the golden child, RW, in the slot for comic relief. And don't discount Hurd. He has been ecllipsed long enough that he is hungry for exposure. Don't fergit Hurd, I say.

So there.

I repeat my question: Why does RW remain a starter. Why? Certainly not for production. Certainly not for his good hands.

Is it because we are preparing a showcase for RW on Sunday? One test of his cajones in a game situation? I cannot think of another reason, holder of the Supreme Truth that I am.

Hep me anser this RW question.

I will be with my 70 virgins in my kitchen making kosher and Tex-Mex snacks for tomorrow's game.

you already know why he is starting. it's because jerry paid a lot of money for him and traded a lot for him. therefore in jerry's mind he starts. it doesn't make any sense but that is the reason... how do you not see that?

all stats and opinions can point else where. but you really can not see why roy williams is starting? is it that hard for you to comprehend the fact that when jerry spends his money on something, he is going to try to use it. i just don't see what is so confusing about this. sure it's possibly dumb... but it's happening. forget it, stop crying.

Because he's very obviously one of the two best receivers on the team.

Seriously here. Patrick Crayton is the only alternative. That right there should end this crap.

Williams is far more talented than Crayton, and Crayton's production simply doesn't warrant him being moved ahead of Williams on the depth chart.

And even with a injury I still think Roy is the better player. I fail to see why people don't believe that Crayton is a slot receiver. That's what he is. That's what he should be. Its not a demotion. Not in my eyes. Wes Welker is a slot receiver and is by far the 2nd best receiver on that Pats team.

Jerry is calling these shots, because Williams is going to have a breakout game this weekend. He probably won't equal Miles, but will still have a good game, thus earning his paycheck.

Bingo.

I will admit it would seem reasonable for the offense to give him more time and opportunities. That's what picks and salary will do for you. Give you more time. Sooner or later he'll have to produce but that time is not yet.

I know we spent alot on this guy but he needs to go! Give Ogletee a shot, I think he could be a good 1-2 punch with Austin and put Crayton in the slot.

read the "Jerry lays down the law" thread. Sounds like RW may have more competition come Sunday.

I'm betting, that down on the Farmer's Branch, after the game, you'll be eating this post like a side of pot-bellied pork ribs.
