I can't say that I disagree ....there is definite hope but your last sentence sums it up ... but did they learn? To be continued .... but every season starts with hope for me so again not sure if that means that this team is different than previous installments ... it feels it for the same things you described ... but in over 40 years I've had the same feeling and have sen the same thing ... for every broncos / Seahawks story (which by the way is hardly the same as this years cowboys as that was a team loaded with vets as well and it was the Super Bowl, not an early exit of one and done like the cowboys ..) but for every broncos story there are other stories of promise and hope that fell flat .. not 100% confident that what we saw was hope with a glimmer of magic .. or right place right time one year hit .. I will always have hope and hope they can deliver 2 years in a row but with a finish that shows progress
Some will probably call me a Dak homer for this, and I might be, but look at what Dak did for Mississippi State. Want to talk about an exercise in futility? One hundered and twenty years it took for Mississippi State to be ranked #1 in the nation. Guess who was the main catalyst to get us their? Dak Prescott. Unfortunately, we didn't have the team around him to win a National Championship. I'm pretty sure that sounds familiar. Dak has the leadership, work ethic, and personality to get the Cowboys to the Superbowl and win it. The only thing missing is a couple of pieces. The majority of which are on the defense, though, the Cowboys could use another really good/great receiver to compliment Dez, two outside receivers that demand double coverage with Witten & Beasley on the inside would be dangerous. The Cowboys also need a defensive line that can actually get pressure and a better secondary overall. That's about 5-6 players. Some of which you can get in the draft. I know going so long without winning a championship is painful but think about the teams & their fans who have NEVER won a championship. It took Mississippi State one hundred and twenty years just to be ranked #1. I'm hoping it won't take two hundred and forty years to win a national championship.
