Now that, I think, was obvious at the time ... to some.

But if we'd taken Cromartie as a 4th corner over Carpenter, this place would have exploded with vitriol.
I think for what Parcells wanted, he thought Carpenter could fill - covering TEs, being all over the field, capable of dropping deep, playing the run. But in Wade's defense, where it's all about Greg and DeMarcus getting upfield, Carpenter isn't that guy. Spencer's selection reflects that pretty obviously. I really think Carpenter will take Ayodele's spot next season. Might be wishful thinking, probably is, but if he doesn't - it's over.

There was no better fit for a strongside backer in that first round. Cromartie served no purpose here, and made no sense given our other needs at the time. Really where we sat, there was almost no winning unless we selected Marques Colston, lol. And then, we'd have seen a real explosion.

I kind of hope it's Hamlin just so Shefter can look like the moron that everybody knows he is.

I think he made that plain as day the other night.

TO hurts his Ankle and Adam says that its not an ankle but an achilles and a shin, according to TWO sources.

his two sources.....his left and right eyes.

Hour later hes on confirming what all of Earth knew.

Lord I hope so. Is it not strange that one of our starting ILBs, the very position that is designed to be the most tackle-friendly in a Phillips 3-4, is the 8th ranked defender in terms of solo tackles this season? And maybe it's because he was being compared to Bradie last year in coverage, but he looks pretty sub-par in coverage this year as compared to last.

I thought about posting a thread about how even with Roy out the other night, Carpenter still couldn't get on the field at all... And that with a team we weren't worried about throwing it on us, Mr. Ballin Out of Control notwithstanding.

But I thought better of it.

Hmmm...if it wasn't Wade Phillips I might agree. We don't have a traditional nickel really, such that Carpenter would get onto the field. It wouldn't make much sense to just create one for the one week just to get give him playing time, as compared to just letting the sub-SS fill the starting-SS role.

I wouldn't be able to give an opinion on Akin Ayodele's coverage. The last time I saw him on the field was like November of 2006.

Is there a starter on the team less talked about? Certainly no one on the defense. I think Kosier even gets more print.

Probably Spears. He is irrelevent and we're indifferent. The only reason he might get more press is the occasional thread where someone bellyaches about bad "Parcells'" picks. Akin's on the team and nobody knows or cares. Kosier is a close second - but he's good.

I would love for it to be Marion Barber... but I don't think it is.

I think it's Crayton.

I don't want to lost MBIII even for a first and third. He brings too much to our team.

I could see someone taking him for that amount and adding his toughness and fire to their offense.

Bill Belichick in particular loves Barber and while he doensn't have their first rounder this year... I wouldn't put it past him to pull something off.

I doubt anyone gives us a 1st and 3rd for Barber

I'm ruling out Barber, w/ the impending free agents that we have, you usually target them for extensions before anyone else

I don't trade Barber for two #1's. He 's one the top 5-7 backs in the NFL.

Not trying to be funny - but Dallas is in Central Time Zone.

Which means it's 6:37 there, leaving about 5 hours now.
