Here's the link to the interview.

At the 12:45 minute mark Jerry discusses the process by which he chose Wade out of the 11 men he interviewed for the job.

I found this interesting. Basically he asked each of them to explain to him what they would do to fix the team returning from 2006. Their interviews consisted of them outlining and critiquing what they had not been doing right over the last 4 years.

Give it a listen if it interests you.

That reminds me of a John McClainn Story about Greg Williams when he got his 1st shoot as a NFL Headcoach he blew the owner and th GM away when he went in tot he interview they say he has a laptop and he can bring any of the 32 teams up he had every poistion listed on each team 3 players deep on the dpeth chart and he had info on every player he could gather and had it in the laptop.

So when he started game planning he had all the data it was one of the main reason he got his 1st HC gig.

Don't a lot of places, not just football teams do that kind of thing. At my last job interview they asked me what I didn't like about the web site I would be working on.

To recap, he basically said everyone that he interviewed concluded that our defense in '06 was too simple and everyone had it figured out. We all knew that, of course.

His answer to whether the '08 offense was too simple and that people had figured it out, was interesting too. He was very non-committal, saying he'd have to analyze that to figure out if it was true or not. I think that's pretty much an admission on his part.

He also said that, although there will be turnover, in the broad sense, this is about as good a team talent-wise that you can put together in the salary cap/free agency era, which I think many people would agree with as well.

"...and the obvious was, 'Why was I getting a new coach?'"

Why did he make that observation at that time? It seems to me that after the interviewing coaches had made their assessments of the team, they were curious as to why Parcells would even consider leaving the team in very good condition.

I think it was probably because there was good reason for Parcells to stay and he didn't.

I agree and wished that Parcells will one day elaborate a little more into why he decided to step down.

you probably don't have to imagine too hard as to why

If it's a tell all book, you know that there will be hell to pay. Hell, I say. :)

I always thought having a great defensive coach would help stop our offense from being too predictable and vice versa.

Ok so JJ says things need to change. Yet he's saying he won't change the pieces. :bang2:

Phillips isn't going to change. He's set in his ways. oh wait, he didn't fight JJ on firing the ST coach.

JJ did admit he doesn't know what he's doing though.:) that's a step in the right direction.

I do.

$5 million per year and an offer of more.

A talented team on the rise.

4 years effort.

A well known drive to win.

He walked away from that? I confess, I don't get it. For $5 million per year I could work for Nors.

A bored GM that suddenly decides the team needs trash, after you spent years carrying trash to the curb. Sorry to put it bluntly.:)

Now that you mention it...

Where is Nors?

It's months past his self-imposed deadline when he said that he would train and then post some video of him doing a standing long jump. Guess he forgot. oh well.

Jerry has never been a bored GM. I don't know how blunt it is because it doesn't make any sense. How much did you drink last night?
