Jerry has never been a bored GM. I don't know how blunt it is because it doesn't make any sense. How much did you drink last night?

When Parcells was here JJ took a little more of the back seat and most people will admit that, even JJ himself.

Any one who thinks Parcells bought into the "player". Is in denial.
Parcells did what most thought he would, left.

How many coaches would walk into this situation, that are proven coaches?

Cowher has already said owens must go. There's one that won't.

If a player acquired can force a coach to quit then he has a yellow stripe down his back and no wedding tackle. You're basically telling me that Bill Parcells is a gutless punk with no twig and berries.

Well we like to honor people's requests when they ask us to ban them. And that was the 2nd time he'd done it, soo I doubt we allow him a 3rd.

I do.

$5 million per year and an offer of more.

A talented team on the rise.

4 years effort.

A well known drive to win.

He walked away from that? I confess, I don't get it. For $5 million per year I could work for Nors.

same here, although what I would be doing wouldn't exactly qualify as work

per se

It's a trend he showed with his previous two teams. Not surprising.

He gets burned out.

Not at all. Parcells builds teams and knew where this was headed.
So far he's been right.

Nors may have thought that the strike count was 3-2 and that it would give him another chance at-bat. Silly Nors. Taking a baseball analogy and believing he could get away with it on a football forum. :D

Here's the link to the interview.

At the 12:45 minute mark Jerry discusses the process by which he chose Wade out of the 11 men he interviewed for the job.

I found this interesting. Basically he asked each of them to explain to him what they would do to fix the team returning from 2006. Their interviews consisted of them outlining and critiquing what they had not been doing right over the last 4 years.

Give it a listen if it interests you.

Why did it struck you ?

IMO this is the way to do it when you are interviewing someone for a HC position. On what other basis would you judge a HC if not for his insight and his plan he has for your team ?

Most of all the HCs job is to determine the direction which the team will take. That includes what coaches, what (kind of) players, what system will be used. Also how the preparation for games will look (globally spoken).

So essentially this is what would be of interest to me if i was an owner. Does his philosophy and approach coincide with my own. Does it make sense - means is his approach consistent in all of it's aspekts.

Btw this is not the first time Jerry talked about his way choosing HCs. He said the same in interviews right after he hired Wade. So i think he can be taken serious when he i stalking about it the same way now. I think it's a serious and very professional approach.

you probably don't have to imagine too hard as to why

Well isn't it obvious? He's a quitter and a loser, right? I mean the guy decided that it wasn't worth it to him to stay in football, with the Cowboys, and put his sole focus in life on winning a Superbowl.

According to many around here that must mean he's just a giant loser and pathetic cause, at least at that time, football just wasn't a matter of life and death to him.

Gosh how pathetic of BP. How dare he not want to make football, especially Cowboys football, the only thing going on in his life.

He got that from Al Davis. Every time Jerrah interviews someboyd for the HC, he tries to implement their ideas he thinks fit the best, even if he doesn't hire them.

That's also why cadidates are refering more and more to " interview agencies " that teaches them how to answer question without giving away all and/or their best ideas.

You are assuming Parcells left on his own as it was publicly presented.

Matt Mosley told people several days before Parcells said he was leaving that there was no way Jerry was having Parcells back and the public posturing about Parcells deciding his future was all for show.

I heard that from Mosley at least a week before Parcells stepped down.

Parcells and T.O. barely said two words to each other.

How could Owens have "worn on him?"
