You are assuming Parcells left on his own as it was publicly presented.

Matt Mosley told people several days before Parcells said he was leaving that there was no way Jerry was having Parcells back and the public posturing about Parcells deciding his future was all for show.

I heard that from Mosley at least a week before Parcells stepped down.

similar to the Jimmy Johnson firing

people still think that Jimmy left on his own

I don't believe that for one minute. He offered the man more money. Either way, I don't really care. Just glad he is gone. Good riddance.

I don't care who we have. He isn't who I wanted anyway.

I am still glad Parcells is gone.

So you agree...Parcells has no eggs.

Man, ya'll are harsh on the fish smelling guy.

It's all speculation, but if that is the fact, I don't think it has anything to with having no balls. You're trying to build something, the best way you know how and here this guys is reverting back to his old bad habits: plugging in new toys and insisting you play with them. Impatient Jones once again looking for the glamour aspect, while dealing with a guy who has had nothing glamourous about his successful past.

Prima Donna's are not his style and he probably figured, unlike many of the spoiled players on this team and takes some pride in his work, that no amount of money was worth dealing with this narcissistic owner, who is drawn to narcissistic players.

Man, no matter how many ways people try and explain that it just reeks of no huevos to me. I've never heard of a football coach running away because of a football player.

Not the player at all, the owner; the eventuality that it will continue and all of his work of clearing this kind of attitude out would have been for nothing.

He'd pretty much stated the same when he left NE, with his groceries analogy.

I think Parcells left for the reasons he said he did. He just didn't have it in him to start from the beginning again for another season. He was just too tired. It's one thing to be involved in player personnel like he is in Miami and another thing to be involved in the day to day aspects of coaching a football team.

I think he was just too tired to do it anymore.

It is pretty clear to see the players on this team wore him out. The frustrations of daily having to manage stubborn individuals who would not listen drove him to leave where he could start out new. It is not that hard to figure out.

Besides, what particular charm did Dallas have? I know it is hard to grasp, but for some people, Dallas is not the best environment to be in. He was not fond of the city, there was constant drama and media attention and his job meant compromising with an owner/GM constantly. He is where he wanted to be. To state he was a coward and left because of Terrell Owens is absurd.

I don't buy that one either.

Lawrence Taylor wasn't a prima donna?

No, he was a borderline criminal.
If not for making a lucrative living for beating the crap out of people, he'd probably be in prison.

Which part? The part you put in bold or the NE analogy?
I don't think you will either way, you apparently dislike him.

Coach Parcells was also quite younger at that time. And it was a different era. Your Lawrence Taylors back then were less prone to have the attention that even a player like Pacman Jones is now.

If Taylor was under the pressure of today's athlete and in today's age, things would be much different. The game has changed just in the last 20 years.

I am sure Taylor did things back then that would be front page news in today's media driven sport. You could see it catching up to him at the tailend of his career.

True, he's yesterday's Tank, Pacman, etc only he really had talent. He was pure old school football player, regardless of his off field mentality.

He enjoyed playing football. He enjoyed his prostitutes and his drugs, but he also enjoyed the game and wanted to win, ala Michael Irvin.

That is entirely different than a Terrell Owens, who is so insecure that his desire for personal glory and attention outweighs his true passion for the sport and competitiveness. He's not an evil person nor is there true malice, IMO. He is just wired differently and I am unsure what coach or situation would ever make him truly content.

For whatever reason, Parcells could relate to and touch Taylor. He never did with a lot of the players on this roster. The ones he did, it was fairly obvious. The ones he didn't are also as obvious.

That he left because of Jerry. I think he just was tired and wanted to leave. I don't think any player or person forced him out. I think his ego is such that he could have over powered anyone in his way. I may not like Parcells much, but I don't see him as a spineless jellyfish and I don't understand why so many people want to emasculate the guy.

Yeah, it's so much easier to believe Parcells "has no huevos" then to believe he got tired of the owner's "meddling". From an owner who has a history of "meddling".

To each his own.

Jerry didnt buy the team the dam week before Tuna was hired. Tuna knew what type of owner Jerry was and gladdly accecpted his $5 million annual paycheck.

If Tuna had a problem with Jerry, then dont take the job and dont take the money. When you do the opposite and then say after 4 years you cant handle it, you become a freaking hypocrite.

As for as Tuna not being able to coach with TO here, please...........LT was doing freaking blow on the sidelines when Tuna was coaching the G-men, so dont tell me that he couldnt deal with TO.

HOSTILE IS RIGHT.........TUNA HAS NO BALLS!!!!
