Something is very very wrong on offense

Well to be fair. We already know the defense sucks and there is no fix coming in the near future giving the cap status.

However there is some talent on offense

Too bad we have a HC/OC who doesn't know what to do with that talent.

Romo threw some passes over Dez's head. In a "normal" game that wouldn't matter. But when your defense gives up a score on EVERY possession, it magnifies every offensive mistake and it just snowballs. The only way to win tonight was to score 50 points (or 46). You just can't expect that from your offense. They should've kept running to keep the Bears off the field. Just a horrible showing tonight.

You can't blame the Defense for the offense problems.....Everyone knows the injury problems on defense...no one better than Jason Garrett. So how can you go into a game and think your defense is going to hold'em. Your game plan has to be planned around your offense...no ifs, no butts or and's about it....the coached knows the team....the defense is a mess....if you want to win..your only hope is for the offense to score big and go big....you got a $100million QB, DEZ, Witten, Murray and a healthy offense thats how you are going to win. This defense is not going to WIN games for you.....ala the Saints game....Coaches should know their teams strength and weakness and the defense is pure weakness. Your strength is the offense....so go fire up your offense get it clicking..and make it happen......

To me that is Garretts fault....this offense take what the defense gives them..an is not dictating to the defense....the offense is not clicking.. not targeting DEZ.. and shows no continuity....The Offense stinks...the game plan stinks... and who ever's idea it is to take what the defense give you and think you are going to win....is crap.....pure and simple..crap....Cowboys offensive coaches are bad.. out game planned,... plays poorly designed and poor play calling. Why is DEZ not a focal point of this offense........does Calving Johnson and AJ Green not get double teamed......the problem is a Garrett problem.....you have a DEZ BYRANT and you are ruining him.....its an offensive problem....

Living in Cleveland I watch some of the Browns games and Norv knows what to do with his playmaker Josh Gordon.

To bad Garrett can't figure out how to use or get the ball to DEZ......amazing how AJ Green and Calvin Johnson are alway getting the ball... Garrett is ruining DEZ's career.....

The offense is 7th in offensive points per game. That's not counting special teams points or defensive scores. I will take that every year.

the trouble is, that stat counts games like tonight where 14 points were scored after the game was long over.

The offense has issues. if it didnt, it wouldnt be one of the teams with the greatest amount of 3 and outs on offense.

I love how people say well, we have a historically bad defense but since we expect them to be bad it's okay; let's heap tons of blame on the offense. People literally brush off what is shaping up to be the worst defense in NFL history with a wave of the hand, and then write paragraphs about the offense. Hilarious. Because since we know they're bad, it's okay for the other team to never punt. Like that's something you can game plan around. The other team never punting. Right. Since we expect it, it's ok.

Almost all of the games we have played have been close. There are only two exceptions tonight and the Saints. We only scored 17 against the Saints.

If I removed those two games the offensive points per game would actually be higher then it currently is. We averaged 22.5 points per game in those two and are averaging 24 overall. That certainly doesn't account for the difference.

Anyone who supports our offense simply has blinders on. They are bad, have no consistency and the scheme is outdated. It is a shame that our defense is so bad that it is covering the equally bad offense.

Defense-horrible but has an extreme amount of injuries

Offense - mediocre with minimal injuries

Both need a whole new system installed with new coaches. Go back to the 3-4 and bring in an offensive coordinator with his own scheme whether Garrett stays or not. Tonight, we came out and ran the ball down their throats. What happened next is no surprise to me, they went away from it again. That is on the coaches.

On black Monday, they all need to be fired with a whole slew of new guys brought in with no ties to Dallas in any way.

Romo wasn't sharp in some plays tonight but he is still not the main focus/problem of the offense. The roots are far deeper and malignant, time to remove them.
You are mostly right, but as you can see, as soon as they go away from the run, they suck. You can't count on your 100 million dollar QB to move the offense. They tried as much as possible to take the ball out of Romo's hands. Everyone's so afraid to say this, but I'll say this right now. If we had a decent backup QB on the staff, and Romo went down for 4 games, he would never start for the Cowboys again.

Well it can't be romo. I mean he threw for over 100 yards!!

In all honesty, I'd say the biggest problem lies with the HC and the QB.

Believe it or not ppl..this has been out offense for 5 years. Some are just now removing the rose colored goggles.

Offensive philosophy, play design, scheme, predictability, play calling, in-game adjustments, etc... has been the problem for a long time. Garrett as an offensive master mind is the biggest issue.

A lot of those pretty paper stats were derived when the offensive game plan was scraped and our offense went into "streetball" mode. This team does a poor job utilizing the talent it does have and using their strengths and putting them into positions to succeed. Poor coaching. Period.

Dallas rushed for almost 200 yards, made 24 first downs and had zero turnovers. Romo tossed 3 touchdowns, with a rating of 109.

2013 highest average points per drive - Denver 3.07
2012 highest average points per drive - New England 2.99

On Monday Chicago averaged 5.6 points per drive.
Dallas averaged 3.5 (including the final 10 seconds before the first half as a drive) At this rate, Dallas would easily dominate the league offensively.

in 2013 Chicago averages 4.5 punts per game.
Against Dallas they never had to punt.

Time of possession
Chicago - 36:44
Dallas - 23:16

Realist game analysis: "Romo blows yet another one".

The problems with our offense are legion (but still fewer than with our defense), but here is one that stands out--Miles Austin. What has he done since he has come back?

He drops a lot of passes and smiles a lot. I would be smiling, too, if I made that kind of coin.

Dez is on pace to barely break 1000 yards receiving.

He has dropped all the way to 19th in receiving in the NFL -- 11th in the NFC.

He is ranked 32nd in the NFL in big receptions (20+ yards).

Who do you blame? Play calling? Romo not throwing him the ball? Dez not getting open?

More than anything else on offense, this is the biggest indicator to me that things are broken.

Arg!

How about the genius who designed the offense we have been running since 2007?

Not that it matters..............only 3 more weeks till his arse is fired.

I'm quite relaxed, thanks bub. Just pointing out a fact. That ok?

We are now 0-1 in the month of December for this year........not that the month has anything to do with it..........we get our arse kicked by every good team we play.

He's a good QB in spurts. He isn't a QB that gets hot and can take over a game. It's not in his DNA. He's a nice guy says the right things but doesn't have that drive that cocky confidence that you see from the top guys in the league. He hangs his head and says we gotta play better it's a process as a football team. It's become a comical joke. I don't care if he holds every Cowboy passing record. He should with the way the rules are setup now for the QBs and WRs. But this guy couldn't hold Aikmans Jock or shine his shoes. He gets out played by no name QBs so often it's become a Joke. He takes the best WR this team has had since Irvin and makes him a nobody on the field. Time to move on 3 and out one of the worst offenses in the league on the money down. But hey he's having a good "statistical" year. Once again can't beat an opponent with a winning record. This team is not a playoff team at all

Romo is going nowhere with $52 million guaranteed on this new contract so we better find a scheme that uses his talents and Garrett's aint it.

Just curious, does those number account for the Cowboys playing from behind and trying to play catch up. Take the stat padding out of the equation and it will look more like what the nation saw on TV.
