I agree. This team didn't beat a winning team at all last year. I supposed you can be positive that we were better than the worse. That's about it. I saw the Cowboys lose games in epic fashion last season. It's hard to be positive about anything they do until you actually see it on the field.

Funny how the FAN who claims there's been positives refuses to list any of them. There's FANS who've been claiming for the past 3 seasons the Cowboys have made progress despite their 500 record and missing the playoffs each of those 3 seasons. Each season has been a repeat of the previous season. The Cowboys continue year after year blowing 4th quarter leads due to poor game management by Garrett, ill-timed turnovers by Romo and a defense that can't stop the run or the pass especially when games are on the line. Every season under Garrett has been like groundhog day. We keep seeing blown leads, ill-timed turnovers, poor game management and season finale elimination game losses. Even 90,000 fans at home can't seem to inspire this team.

The Cowboys are a team that couldn't even protect a 23 point lead last season at home to a Packers team that was being led by a journeymen QB who wasn't even on their roster at the start of the season. What we saw vs the Packers last season was a virtual repeat of what we saw 2 years ago at home vs the Lions when the Cowboys blew a franchise record 24 point lead. The Cowboys are a team that gave up an NFL record number of 400 yard passing games and an NFL record 40 first downs vs the Saints during a nationally televised Sunday Night game last season and FANS can't understand why some of us are so frustrated with the team?

There's no progress or positives to point to when you're below 500 the last 4 seasons that have resulted in missing the playoffs. Like yourself I need to start seeing good, solid consistent football on the field before I begin to have faith in this team and the direction they're going in. A team spinning it's wheels every year at 8-8 isn't a team making progress. If there were as many positives with the Cowboys as FANS claim there are the team wouldn't be stuck in an 8-8 rut every year.

The team was 8-8. I'd rather have us winning against bad teams and losing to good ones than any alternative in that scenario. Especially since you can look right at the defense and know exactly why we're losing the games to the good teams.

I much prefer that to an erratic team that Jeckyl-and-Hydes you all year with problems on both sides of the ball and that can be up for a good team and down for a bad one.

I'd rather we do a lot worse than 8-8 (if that's our ceiling) and get the draft pick.

We're not one draft pick away from contending, and what makes you confident we'll strike gold with the pick? I'd rather be 8-8 stuck in the mud with a chance at the divisional title every year in week 17, then say stuck in the mud at 4-12 like the Browns, Bills, Tampa, ect;

Careful what you wish for, because you just might get it ... for a long time.

Not me. I'd prefer to win what we can, and to develop the organization that builds through the draft while picking late. The best teams are able to do that, and I'd prefer to be among them.

But that's not really my point. My point is that I'd rather know exactly what the issue is--and has been the last three seasons--with my .500 ballclub, so I can go out and fix it. And that beating bad teams and losing to good ones is not a measure of a bad coach. This league is too competitive. Your head coach doesn't let you magically play better than your talent allows. He lets you maximize the talent you've already got.

I posted on here before half time, that the only coach that can stop our running game is Garrett. It was 26-3 in the 3rd qtr I believe when I told my wife, that we were going to keep passing until Green Bay wins this game. It was embarrassing.

The game against against Green Bay was as bad as the game in which the team quit right before aware was fired. It was against the Packers too. Both games made me ashamed to be a fan.

this post really sums it up. every year its the same song and dance. nothing has changed w this team. nothing feels different. sounds nice to think so though.

The only problem with that is you assume every other team in the division will stay pat. If a couple of them actually improve, we won't be competing. We are lucky they are as bad as we are.
