Sonny Styles NFL Debut (preseason)

And all you had to do is read further down where I asked for clarification as to what he meant.....But you do you

If you are suggesting that Dallas picked Downs because he was the smartest player available at the time, I think it goes beyond just smarts
I dont care what you said later. That doesn't change the fact that you said he implied something when that wasn't the case. He simply said take a smart player. You were the one that made the jump to "if you are saying the only reason they took Downs is because he is smart."

Well when I first saw this I was about to get triggered and say why are we salivating over styles we got downs but then I realized that not watching the video and now seeing your responses I would have been wrong to say that.. So they got Jaylen Smith..kjk Or maybe Bobby Carpenter was he OSU, I can't remember but Parcells thought She was going to be great...

I said everyone is his size. But think about his 40 time. Most linebackers probably run what? A 4.5 to 4.8? That time is made up of how fast you can dissect or process play. The edge he has in college isn’t there in the NFL. From everything I saw pre draft he’s a smart kid. I think he’s gonna be ok just not now or anytime soon.
I think that's true and I did like him coming out but more and more I suspect that Caleb had a lot to do with how well the back half of that defense performed.

Means nothing if you can't stick your nose in there and fill gaps with physicality.

Dallas needs to run right at that guy.
Which is weird for him. He was a pretty physical guy at Ohio State. Not Ray Lewis at Miami physical but still pretty fierce. I think he is a deer in the headlights right now where EVERYONE is big and fast.He might not ever over come it but I believe he will become a good one eventually even if he isn't great, but since he is a member of the commodes I hope he stinks to high heaven :D

Because for our guy to be good, their guy must be bad.
Hey, we haven't been able to have a good old fashioned player versus rumble with Washington in years. Sean Taylor vs Roy Williams the last one? Back when both team's fanbases had not realized yet that it would never turn around with the guy who owned the team. Bring back some of that old rivalry passion!

He wasn't that good against the run. He just played around superstars.

Camden Brown is a stud folks. He is a big time steal.
But who does he takes snaps from on Sunday? Can he play against the first team defenders? I care more about consistency, recognition and catch rate than circus catches, which are a dime a dozen these days. With Pickens, Lamb, Flournoy, Turpin, Ferguson and Ford in the mix, where is he going to get the snaps? Mingo hasn't gotten many since the Cowboys signed him.

In reality...Brown doesn't have anything the Cowboys don't already have. He's not a burner. Their WR trio has the potential to be the best in football this year. When you include Williams and Luepke in the passing game...there really aren't too many more footballs to go 'round.

Crazy me- thinking injuries & contracts are a real thing in pro football. I'm sure Pickens & Flournoy will be Cowboys until they hang up their cleats. I forgot that all 3 of our top WR's are exempt from missing any snaps this year from any form of physical ailment or illness.

But let's wait and see what the young buck can do versus first string defenders. The sample size is N = 0 at present.

Fluornoy was WR5 with eleven snaps, zero receptions and zero targets until Lamb was injured.

If the question is “why bother”, you might as well ask why keep a QB2. I mean, they’re not going to take snaps from Dak on Sunday.
