One thing no one's talked about yet was Christopher's role in the episode.

Tony told Bobby (indirectly) that he was terribly disappointed with the direction Chrissy has taken in life.

Tony and Chris' telephone "conversation" was incredibly significant. Chris is still obviously somewhat interested in maintaining contact with Tony and "the family" but clearly has done something to invoke Tony's ire (probably with the movie business).

Chris has been such a significant character over the series, I'd be shocked if he doesn't play a huge role in the final episodes.

You make some good points Tony told Bobby on the boat he was grooming somone to be a go between for him but now he has to rethink that situation. Makes me wonder if Chris ends up getting whacked and Bobby ends up taking over if Tony gets arrested.

On a side note was reading a message board and one of the theories is that the whole show is a screenplay written by Chris based loosely on his life experiences. Thought it was a pretty interesting concept.

That would suck SO MUCH. :bang2:

Honestly, I think Tony has to die at the end. Jail would be an unrealistic ending as you'd think there'd have to be a trial and I don't think they'd want to end the season on such a boring note.

I see an ending with Tony laying somewhere, dying, with some flashbacks of his life (the series) and those who have gone before him... and, of course, a duck. :D

I don't think Tony's going to die or go to jail. It's much too expected. Like Tony said on the boat while fishing, 80% of guys in his position either get killed or wind up like Johnny Sac.

I think Chase will end it with just showing how evil Tony is, with Tony having to pay for his sins by losing a close loved one -- probably Meadow. That'd be virtually the same ending as the Godfather movies, but we never got to see Michael be truly evil in the 3rd, so it wasn't like a "this is what you get" type scenario.

But what I could really see happening is just ending it with Tony doing something extremely heinous and being portrayed as a real monster, only to have him go home and have dinner with his family like a normal human being. It would really hit home the overarching theme of the show that his been lost here and there.

SPOILERS

I got alot of laughs out of this episode...especially with the CLEAVER scenes.

Danny Baldwin's take of Tony for the movie was a riot...especially when Tony was proud of it :lmao:

I have to say that I loved the restaurant murder scene...loved Silvo talking and getting sprayed with blood out of the blue...I felt the same confusion in the moment that he did...well done

I knew coming into the episode that someone died and was immediately disappointed when I saw Johnny Sac with his shaved head...it was coming, but I felt if could have been flushed out better if they had added this aspect into last season's finale so we know about the impending power struggle in NY.

AJ's girlfriend suddenly being a ***** was a riot...this was the first time I have actually liked and sympathized with his character...when asked if by Carmela if they had a fight and he said "I don't know"...I lost it laughing :lmao2:

Welcome to women AJ.

Yeah, the Sil murder scene was classic. Splat. That was great juxtaposed to the Cleaver murder scenes. Life/art imitation...yada yada yada...

I still can't figure out what this season is going to be about. A NY power struggle? A struggle between Chrissy and Tony? Tony and Phil?

There's only 9 episodes and we're almost a 1/3 of the way in. :(

Almost seems like we are headed to a "Mystic River" type ending with Tony and Chrissy.

Who was the guy that got whacked in the Silvio scene? I don't even remember seeing him before.

I think Tony was calling him Doc... I think he was from the NY family, but I don't remember seeing him before.

I think "Doc" is the one that ordered the hit...or am I getting confused here.

Doc is one of the older white haired guys if I remember from last night.

However I don't remember seeing him prior to this season.

The guy who got hit was Phil's protege... the guy who was set to be the new New York Boss.

Doc is the one who ordered the hit, because he wants to be the boss.

Ok that is what I thought.

Oh, someone else mentioned the Shine box line from goodfellas but that scene where Phil was at the bar really reminded me of that scene in goodfellas.

I think there was alot of foreshadowing in Tony's visit to Dr. Melfi, talking about how Christopher hates him, and then at the end when they hug at the christening. Christopher had dead eyes.

I think he will want to get out of the business somewhat so he can focus on making movies. This, of course, will have huge repercussions with Tony.

All the talk about Adrianna makes me wonder if they find her body, too.

I thought that was a very solid episode.

I love it when they spend time on the root characters like Paulie.

I was pretty sure that Tony wasn't going to kill him, but the tension in that scene was pretty high.

Did anyone else get creeped out a bit by Junior's side-kick? It was poor timing for such a character (young Asian man with serious rage issues) but I guess there's not much the producers could do since the show had already been shot. There were certainly a few scenes with that guy that sent chills down my spine.

Yes that is terrible timing.

Paulie is my fav as well.

On a side note I have read that when he signed up to do the Sopranos he made it so they would not kill him in his contract. Not sure if that is true but that is what I read in some soprano article once.

The look on Paulie's face when Tony asked him to go fishing was priceless.

I'm sure he'd waive his "no-kill" clause for the final season, though.

It'd be a way to go out with a "bang" so to speak.:
