Unless they plan on doing something lame like a movie after the series is over, then they almost HAVE to kill Tony in the last episode.

Oddly I read somewhere where they was asking the writer if tony would die, if there would be movies afterwards and stuff...just trying to gleen any info.

He said there COULD be a movie later and would not rule it out, but the tone he used did not seem to indicate that a movie was in the works or even an idea he was presently considering.

I think the scenario being missed is that Tony becomes boss of NY and NJ.

They seem to be leading towards a war. Does it end with Tony on top.....or dead? Seems like a good story line for the last season.

We've watched him move up the ranks throughout the series.

Or send him to jail

I think it would be a cool ending just because it would be realistic and the opposite of what we expect, especially if he turns state's evidence and narcs out his partners, but it seems like they want to glorify the mob and murder, so doesn't seem like an ending they would seek. Who knows. "Dead Presidents" is one of my favorite movies just because it does what you suggested. Elaborate plot, cool bank heist, and then the ending is simply he goes to prison, loses the rest of his life, and wonders what he did wrong on the bus ride to serve his life sentence.

Tony would never be a rat but it would be funny if he ended up in a cell with Johnny Sac lol

David Chase strikes me as a pretty enigmatic guy. I wouldn't be surprised to see the final episode ending with the family sitting down to dinner (not unlike the ending of the season 1 finale), concluding the series in a familiar, 'the more things change, the more they stay the same' manner.

Did Phil Leotardo ever look evil coming out of the closet (not sure if that was an intentional visual pun) to confront Vito. He almost looked satanic. Poor Vito; can't imagine what he was thinking coming back to Jersey, knowing the mentality of those guys.

I thought the same thing. I even commented to my wife that it's hilarious that he was "in the closet."

Pretty weak ending to the season. I was sure something was going to happen to Chris but it never did. I think he's going to be the chosen whackee for the final episodes and will lead to some other major characters getting whacked also. The best part of the episode to me was AJ's new woman.....she is HOT.

Carmines part was interesting.

To me he is setting, or trying to set up, Tony and Phil to fight it out and just sit back and watch.

He brings them together for a sit down.

Makes note that he misses Rusty and that something is being worked on to get that straightened out, maybe finding out who was responsible and taking care of them.

Then when things are somewhat under control he brings up Phil's brother and Phil and Tony get into it again.

However I think with Tony going to see Phil in the hospital and really having a heart to heart talk about things since they have both had life changing medical things in their lives...

I think either Tony or Phil, maybe they even combine on this, figure out something on Carmine and they both plan to take him out.

Just something to watch for.

In AJ's case I think it may finally be a sign that he is growing up and taking responsility.

He is with an older woman, likes the kid, brings her home to mom and pop. He gets rid of the kids making noise at the girls place in a PEACEFUL manner.

Problem may come when he is finally growing up, working, taking on responsibility....(remember her saying he had to WORK for the last number in her phone number). But now that he seems to be showing maturity I just wonder if either Tony or Carm can live with the idea that he is dating someone other than a white/italian girl who is older and already has a kid.

This should be about the most interesting situation they have done with AJ. Most times I would rather not even see him because his story stinks, but this one is slightly interesting.

I don't think Tony had a problem with it because he had that look in his eye that said I'd hit that!!!!!!! :D

Funny thing was at first I thought she was Paulies side girl, but realized she just worked there.

Don't forget Junior throwing out the I wasn't alone in shooting Tony.

The demetia is an act...note he paid off the orderly with the returned money.

I think we will see a Friedo moment with Uncle Juie, before it is done.

This season was abysmally disappointing.

Looking back, I regret even defending the first four episodes of the season. I thought they might be meaningful to the rest of the season, but the themes in them weren't really developed all that well.

THis finale was horrible. If flowed terribly and jumped around way too much.

In total, this was a wasted season. I have every other season on DVD, but there's no way I'm adding this one to the collection. HOpefully they can pull their act together for the final episodes.

But from the slow intro with the Tony dream scenes... to all the gay Vito episodes... to the absence of a real bad guy this season... the whole thing was a huge step down from what we've grown accustomed to expect from this show.

I think I read or seen somewhere that he was having real life problems, not sure if physical or mental...going back as far as the last season.

Hence they started showing less of his character.

I am not sure if they will take him out. If they wanted him gone he would be by now.

Now I know the threat of him giving up info without meaning to is there but I think they could easily show that he is not of sound mind now.

It's too bad because I liked him and paulie as the comedic outlets in the show. He had so many funny scenes and such.

Way maybe that is why figured it would be the last go around (including next season as it finished up).

I think they knew that they have milked this story and characters enough and really with some of the great seasons and shows in the past they earned a little.

This is not my favorite season by far, there were some shows that were ok but as a whole it was a let down after so long of a layoff.

But let's not make any mistakes, past seasons have also started in one direction with a story line and basically left it hanging out there with either a weak resolve to it or none at all.

Remember the pine barrens with the russian, I think it was a season or maybe two later and they mention him while talking at the bar but never say if anything was found or if the russians friend said anything to tony about it.

I'm not so sure that he won't be a bigger storyline down the road.

Tony came out of the coma all in love with life, that protected Junior. Plus he still has issues about blowing the face off his cousin for Phil.

It seems like a nice little twist if we find out that Phil was in it with Junior, the dementia is an act, and keeping Junior alive will either be a threat to Tony or the final straw that sends them to the mattresses.

I liked the sequence with AJ. He knows he is too much of a weenie to fight those guys, so he offers them a bike and then the next thing you see, she is riding him like a stallion.

Who was the woman with Tony when he received the call on his cell phone (he was sitting on a bed taking off his shoes)? I thought at first it was Juliana Margolese but then it wasn't.

That's what I thought as well but it wasn't.

I guess just another girl.

Remember he was with another girl in his SUV when he took her home from work one night so the idea that he is staying faithful is out the window.

I think his character really does have dementia and or alz.

If you remember when the feds first got him his plan was to act this way.

But it went from obvious acting to what appears to be the real deal.

I also think it was an extension to carry on the bad "real" family member after his mothers character, and the actress playing her, died.

Who knows but I just don't think Junior has much of a major story line now unless he does say something in court which could scare them.

Another thing I have noticed. Although they only get a few seconds of air time, they have been on too many times not to mean something.

The middle eastern guys.

I am not so sure they are bad guys, actually I think they may be feds of some sort.

Time will tell but they have shown them, the fed says something about it once, tony asks chris about them...just seems too much for something not to come of it down the road.
