Sorry, but I think this video board is ridiculous

physics works differently in a vertical direction with gravity than it does in a horizontal direction. an nfl qb that can throw the ball 65 yards (195 feet) would not be able to throw it 195 feet in the air. gravity is constantly working in the downward motion against anything moving up but you do not have the same force working in the horizontal direction of travel.
I don't think he meant that he could theoretically kick it 195 feet in the air. He was just using it to show that McBriar does have the leg strength to hit it if he wanted to.

McBriar kicked it over 90 feet when they were in the design phase. It was already known that you could kick that high. The point was, could it be hit in a normal game. The answer is no unless it's intentional.

Is there a youtube of that punters rekick?

And maybe they can just remove the Mitsubishi signage, since that is what it hit and that is probably at least 5 feet tall and lower than the rest of The Tron.

The punt returners have said how it's hard to pick up the ball with the video board there. Maybe they can put like a white mesh screen on the bottom of it to help you see the ball when it's under the board. With all the video and glass in this place I think you are going to see quite a few returners have trouble judging punts this year.

I wonder what kind of shadows it will cast during day games.

Talk about a joke. The Cowboys starters looked pretty good this week. But you wouldn't know it, listening to the barage of complaining about the height of the freakin TV. It's all any sports news outlet wants to talk about.

I'm hoping a player commits a crime or something soon so it can be put to bed.

I never liked the proposed idea of the mammoth screen in the first place, tbh...It always sounded like it would be a distraction...I just didn't factor into it the possibility of kickers/punters being distracted by it...I was just thinking that it was so monstrous, who was going to be watching the field?...Moreover, I figured people would get neck strain from simply being forced into looking up at it...Raising it will simply increase that likelihood

And if you're in the upper deck where the screen will be more at eye level, who will be watching the game on the field?...The screen is essentially telling fans to go home and watch it on their big screen instead of being there live.

JJ is going to lose on this so he should simply raise it but it probably should've been about 25% smaller than it is now

Why are we now discussing 195 feet? Has the discussion shifted to questioning whether punters can hit the TOP of the videoboard

Looks like it was just an example.

An example agreeing that McBriar could hit the videoboard if he choose to? Or an example which disagrees that McBriar could hit it?

neither. i was just pointing out that what distance he can punt horizontally is not a direct correlation to height that he would be able to punt. but as said previously, people don't think that's what you meant...i mistakenly did.

Don Banks has a weekly "Winners and Losers" column, and he put us (Jerry) in the "Losers" category this week.

Never mind that we dismantled the Titans in, you know, the actual game.
