Sorry, but I think this video board is ridiculous

I was at the game on Friday and had absolutely no problem keeping my attention on the field. The video board was great for the post-play stuff though. They even show a replay from four different angles at the same time.

From the reports I've read, the higher up you are, the more distracting it is. Maybe it depends on the person.

Having people do-over punts is an embarrassment not just to the Cowboys but to the entire NFL.

The stadium exists for the sake of the game, not vice versa. The screens need to move now, regardless of who is footing the bill to move them.

Well, I prefer to watch the game through a pair of binoculars. So I guess you could make an argument, people will eventually just get used to it.

I can understand your argument, but to be fair, the NFL did sign off on it.

I have said since day one that I didnt like the screen. Not so much that it is too big but it is caveman compared to the modern marvel that is the stadium.

He should have wated until the technology was available to created an oblong screen that conforms to the shape of the stadium.

It looks ridiculous from the ground and from eye level and most of all from the blimp.

No one will ever hit the scoreboard. Dont you think the engineers have checked for that??? Are you daff?

LMAO

No one will ever hit the scoreboard. Don't even question it. It will never happen.

Do over... do over... do over... do over... do over... do over...

Am I the only one who thinks that this whole thing is playing out exactly like Jerry planned? He's engineered a steady stream of "money can't buy it" media exposure, positive public commentary and controversy. And he's going to leverage it all to close a huge naming rights deal in a down economy. The guy is just a brilliant businessman.

Nothing ever shocks me when it comes to Jerry Jones.

You're under my power!

You have no feel will!

You will stare into my video board until you go blind!

Well, a tiny fraction of you will. Most will continue watching the game as it unfolds
on the field just as you have since like... forever... but nevermind that!

Buy my $8 beer!

Go Cowboys!

PS: Buy my $8 beer!

He is brilliant. There is no doubt.

But he is also one of the biggest problems with this organization.

If its all about money - Jerry is the man.

The Dallas Cowboys dont need marketing and mass money making "engineering" schemes.

The current scoreboard is a joke. IMO.

Some people will complain about anything. The gargantuan video board is a genius idea. Raise it, lower it, I don't care. The Dallas Cowboys have the biggest damn video board in the best damn stadium. Period. Opposing punters are afraid. Boo hoo hoo. Advantage Cowboys. The haters can't find anything wrong with the stadium. They are all in awe, so that intentionally lousy punt hitting the video board gave them something to latch on to. Sadly, some Cowboys fans have latched on also.

:hammer:

Well done.

Jerry is a lot of things ... among them, entertaining.

like someone said i think the point of the board is, regardless of where you sit, you have a great view of the action on the field... and its not like watching at home in your living room, unless your living room can fit 79k people and is right in the middle of a live game...

This is true. For the person that just wants to focus on the QB, the screen is perfect. You can see them much more clearly on that monster because they're literally larger than life.

But for the person that wants to see the formation, the routes, blitzers, etc., it's better to watch the field because the view on the screen is extremely close up on the QB.

PS: Apologies for these unsolicited comments.

Its like saying why go to the movie theater, when you could watch a movie from your living room...

dumbest argument ever...

This is what it reminds me of. Having something big for the sake of it being big. I don't get it. I think it looks crazy and takes away from the game.

Did you go to the game?

If you didn't then please shut up.

You can't help yourself. I understand.

They said it was only set to one-quarter of its max brightness. Just once I'd like to see it cranked up to 100%.

Like people want to pay good money to go to the game and watch a big screen - not to mention one that gets hit by punts. This is just stupid.

And I am sure you get the same game day atmosphere at home...right?

Exactly! It's sour grapes.

I find it funny it that some are getting so much joy about being able to point out a supposed flaw in the best stadium in the NFL.
