I say lower it to one half inch above minimum.

This is what it reminds me of. Having something big for the sake of it being big. I don't get it. I think it looks crazy and takes away from the game.

The stadium exists for the sake of the game, not vice versa. The screens need to move now, regardless of who is footing the bill to move them.
McBriar's punts don't even come close to hitting it. And he's pretty damn effective.Sammy Baugh;2900454 said:I would argue that the situation, if unrectified, puts Dallas at a long-term disadvantage in two ways:
1) punting redos benefit the receiving team, as the coverage team will be more winded for the redo. Given that Dallas will face that situation more than other teams, since the screens are in Dallas, we might see Dallas give up an extra number of big returns. This remains true unless Dallas punters learn to kick around the screens, which brings me to my second point:
2) if Dallas punters learn to kick around the screens, that will reduce their effectiveness. They will learn to have less hang time. They will learn to direct punts away from the screens rather than to the most strategic locations.

I read that the Tennessee punters hit it during pre-game warmups. I don't doubt that McBriar could hit it; he just doesn't because when you're kicking from your own territory (and you have to be in order to hit it), you don't kick straight up -- you kick for distance.Sammy Baugh;2900474 said:I read that McBriar hit it several times in the pregame warmups.
That's what I heard during the first few minutes Fox's coverage of the game Thursday.Sammy Baugh;2900474 said:I read that McBriar hit it several times in the pregame warmups.
I was one of the first people in the stadium, watched warm-ups from start to finish, and I honestly don't recall McBriar having hit the board. That's not to say that he didn't, it is of course possible that I missed him doing so. Now the Titans Punters on the other hand must of hit the thing 5-10 times. But again, they were trying to do so and it was painfully obvious.Sammy Baugh;2900474 said:I read that McBriar hit it several times in the pregame warmups.

You're not physically going to hit the thing if you're kicking for distance. The only way someone can physically kick it is if they're kicking straight up and the ball would only go 30 yards downfield.Sammy Baugh;2900486 said:That is not a good distinction. When you are kicking from your own territory you want BOTH distance and hang time. Hang time comes from kicking higher. A kick which is BOTH high and long is the ideal.

I love how everyone (by that I mean "haters" in the media) is using the screen as a distraction from the awesomeness that is Cowboys Stadium.
The stadium...by nearly every account...is just amazing. There has to be one little thing for the haters to grab onto.
To top it all off....our team has looked pretty good (the first team anyway). That makes it worse.
