I kept reading all off season how Elliott was going to be breaking Dickerson's rushing record ect ect ect.
You know what ? Morris looked better than Elliott today and it was not even close.

Dak looked like a bus driver QB. Not going to get you beat, but not going to make the big play either.

I do not know what has happened to Dez, maybe he is just an average wideout with Romo ?

Romo has covered up the flaws on this team for years, but now without Romo I am afraid we are looking at another high draft pick.

I don't know why we did not sign any decent defensive free agents this year.

This defense plays with a lot of heart but is devoid of talent and playmakers.

I agree that Romo for years has been our deodorant. He has covered up a lot of holes, made a lot of players better, and then takes the entire amount of blame when the team is ultimately inferior.

If anything, Dak is lucky to have inherited a center who can properly snap the ball.

I've had very low expectations for this season even prior to the Romo injury, and continue to feel that way. Our defense has looked poor on paper all offseason, and got weaker and weaker with every suspension. Getting Lawrence back will help, but he's not a difference maker. Gregory, McClain and Jaylon Smith probably aren't walking through that door this year -- or ever, in McClain's case.

We didn't attack any of our defensive weaknesses in the offseason, which surprised me for a team claiming to try to win while the laughable 3-to-5-year Romo window remains open.

Truthfully, the excitement I've had for the season was that I thought our offense had (has?) a chance to be exciting with Romo; and without him, I think Dak is a promising prospect who is fun to watch and easy to root for.

I'm not overly confident though when it comes to wins and losses.

Zeke needs to run with more patience. Morris did and had a lot of success. But Morris also ran behind the OL all preseason while Zeke was off stretching his hamstrings with the trainers.

Dak drove the bus, which is pretty good for a rookie 4th rounder who wasn't supposed to see the field for a year or two.

Romo always makes the receivers look better.

If Romo isn't back within a few weeks the season could turn ugly. I'm still holding out hope he'll be back soon because the fracture was small enough that they needed an MRI to even find it.

Can't argue about the defense. I was particularly disappointed in the DTs today, I thought they had a chance to really make Eli uncomfortable.

Been saying this for a awhile now while people like @Jstopper mocked me. Without Romo we're nothing. Wiith him, we're a 1st roundd exit max. We'll never be a serious super bowl contender with this defense. Don't care how good the offense is and how dominating the run game is.

I think this season will be better than last. Last year I was disinterested at times. I think this team will definitely be better but not championship quality.

Prescott was good for a rookie. He wasnt the reason they lost.

I didn't see anything from Elliott that told me he was going to be special. It's only one game so we'll see. The o-line was below average.

The defense is really bad. But most people already knew that

Dak's a rookie making his first start. I think he played fairly well but it was also obvious they planned for him to be a bus driver, take the short stuff, manage the game and not turn it over. He did that and it would've been enough if we could've had a better running game and defense.

It will be interesting to see what happens going forward. If they open up the offense and if Dak can make the plays downfield. If not, it's going to be a long season when teams can load up against the run and not worry about anything over 10 yards.

Any comments ?

I was not impressed with Zeke at all.

He can't be normal... Not at pick 4.. He has to be a special player and he has to be a special player RIGHT NOW.

I've watched later round RBs play at a hi level all day today. We need defense desperately and we took the easiest position in football to replace and used a top 5 pick.

Imagine if it was Joseph Randle who had Zeke's game today... You guys would trash him.

This offense gameplan was a copy of last season with Weeden and Cassell.
Our coaches call the most simple, predictable, conservative game plan. They probably do this with Romo also but he pretty much changes every play at the line and snaps the ball with 1 second left. We have a real offensive scheme and coaching problem.
Every team will be playing us the same way and we will continue to struggle when we let teams double Dez, stack the box on first and second down, and play tight 10 yards for the LOS. We don't move Dez around. We have no weapon to beat teams deep when Dez is drawing the double. The OL is good. But predictable safe offense is going to make it a long season.

Any QB that isn't named Romo will become Checkdown Charlie under this coaching staff.

Who did you see play at a high level today?
Were they playing with a rookie QB who teams stacked the box and dared the QB to beat them with a slow footed 14 year vet TE, and a little slot receiver with alligator arms hearing footsteps all day?

Zeke didn't have a good game. But lets not pretend he had holes to run through. He was met in at the line almost every carry.
Zeke may not be as good as they hoped....but todays game is hardly enough to say this.

Forget everything else. If you cant stop the run when you need to stop the run, or get the defense of the field when you need to get the defense off the field, you dont win in any league. The complete mediocrity of this coaching staff is a whole other story.

I'm not giving Zeke ANY excuse.

I watched Todd Gurley rip up defense on a team much worse than ours last year. It's the easiest positions to transition too.

I'm not overreacting.. I'm just saying it needs to get better. I give the Giants credit for his struggles but he needs to start producing right now.

Yeah so did Todd Gurley last year, every time he got the ball. Yet that went... better.

i dont blame him for today the giants sold out to stop the run and it worked.

I am a little concerned it looks like zeke has no second gear. Didnt get the feeling he would run away from anyone today and he allowed the safety to tackle him one on one when he got his only clear shot outside.
