If tanking or getting high draft picks was a sure fire recipe for success in the NFL, teams like Cleveland would have 5 Superbowls. It’s fools gold.
kinda put me of the spot Broncos (with Elway), Colts, Ravens, Steelers and Chiefs with the Patriots being the anomaly, though they were terrible before Bill came along to. Not every team needs to draft a QB with a high pick.
so barely making the playoffs and a "one and done" in a wild card is better than having a high draft pick? why ?
The draft has been the only decent thing about this team. McClay does an excellent job there. It's free agency where the team is awful. Aldon Smith is the only FA that panned out and even it seems like he's faded.
Mostly I’m just upset that I have to recalibrate my mock drafts now and the 2 hours I’ve researched so far for them have been all for naught.
I admit for the 1st time in my life (almost 37) I hopped on the tanking bandwagon...But once the game starts instincts always take over, and seeing the victory formation was absolutely beautiful......And now Im excited again for my favorite holiday in 4 days!
Yea let's keep winning games and cruise into a 7 and 9 season, first round playoff exit and let the Eagles, Giants and Redskins nab blue chip talents while we're stuck with a mid round pick. That way in 5 years, we can celebrate that year we went 7 and 9 and won games with our backup quarterback. I'm sure the Bengals regret having that number 1 pick so that they could have drafted Joe Burrow Is the goal to win a super bowl or not?
