Weeden obviously see's things on the field Romo does not...
Sorry, but I'd say this is not so very obvious. In fact, it's very much not the case. Brandon's still working on QB fundamentals for operating an offense under center, and Tony sees the field as well as anybody in the NFL.
If your starter can start, you start him. If he's ineffective because of the pain, you can always go to your backup later. You're not going to start Weeden and then have Tony on the bench ready to come in if he struggles, so that leaves you with Vaughan active this week. No thanks.
It's moot, anyway, because if he's medically cleared to play, you know that Tony's going to play. Personally, I love that. It's what makes him a great QB, and you have to take the good with the bad. He's not the type who's going to hurt his team if his play is compromised. He is the type who's going to go out there if he possibly can. He's a beast. And when your QB does that, it sends a message to the rest of the team how important the game is to him. Overall, that's a really good thing to have happen at some point during a season.
And I'll just say again that I'm really surprised how many people want to start Weeden over Romo--even for a week. I just don't see it.
