If one comes to you in the draft and there isnt a better defensive line guy..then you just added more options for the Oline. Obviously we dont know if this means they will hard stance not take OL in the draft... nothing this FO does would suprise me.
LT is the only position you should ever want to take in the first round. Only when other positions have already had there runs should you settle for an inside player because those guys are much easier to find in the other rounds. Zack Martin as an example was taken only because a trade up for Aaron Donald wasn't doable and then the LB that they literally had on the phone was picked right before them.

Smith Smith Biadasz Martin Steele

Tyler playing LG. That is probably your starting OL this year.

Zero depth though.
Now that’s a nice group of run blockers, and achieved without a single roster move.

If we don’t refuse to bring in running backs that can still hit a hole before it closes….well you just never know what could happen.

Well it looks like the Cowboys won’t be drafting an offensive linemen with their first pick this season. Cornerback or bust?

I would love a line of

LT Tyler Smith
LG Broderick Jones
C Tyler Biadasz
RG Zack Martin
RT Tyron Smith / Terence Steele
I like Schmitz at LG better

That way we can let Biadasz walk next year and Schmitz takes over at OC

Holes arent suppose to close that fast. Even for slow fat rbs.

While I expect he will miss games, I am on board with this. Bring Peters back as an assistant O Line coach but ask him to stay in shape just in case.

He's still a monster when healthy. Counting on him to stay healthy is a mistake. The team better have a solid plan B and plan C. Like the player, but that's a big cap hit for somebody who might not be on the field. Keep the depth coming!

Tyron is the type of guy we need right now. He was probably the most dominant LT in the game for a few years. Once the injuries began to set in, he's continued to help the team as much as possible. Last year he played RT to fill in where needed, and to my knowledge, has been nothing but helpful with Tyler Smith and his development. From everything I can see he's a true professional and incredibly positive in the locker room. I'm guessing he will be willing to restructure his deal/take a pay cut and finish out his career as a Cowboy. I hope so. I know he's been injured a lot the last few years, but the dude has been bleeding silver and blue for a long time now. Respect.

Not every team has the luxury of pencilling in a guy like Tyron for five games a season.
I can't like this comment enough.

It is absolutely foolish to kick Tyron to the curb if he wants to compete for a job. You draft to bring in young talent that makes your current players obsolete.

The business of a successful football team is to acquire, retain and mould talent and ability. Not to throw it out like yesterday's trash.

If Tyron Smith is not with the Cowboys it should be because he was beaten out by (7) other lineman who are better than he is, his body can't take it no longer or he has been traded away for good quality draft picks.
