Source: Deron Williams prefers Nets or Lakers

The Nets have cap room and Dwight is still a possibility for them. But at this point they would need to get a top 3 pick so they can keep their first in order to deal him to NJ. A sign and trade for Lopez won't work.

pretty much if the nets get a top 3 pick, say goodbye to both deron and dwight.

Look at the average age of the starters for both teams:

Nets: Humphries(27)Brooks(23)Williams(28),Wallace(29)Williams(27)
Avg: 26.8
Mavs: West(28)Dirk(33)Haywood(32)Marion(34)Kidd(39)
Avg: 33.2

Players with over 7 years of experience:

Nets:3
Mavs:8

Players born in the 1970's:

I think it is obvious that Kidd would be gone if Williams ended up with the Mavs, so those number would go down slightly. The Lakers would be are in a similar position as the Mavs as far as aging players. Still very early in the process. A team could come out of nowhere and sweep up Williams.

He'll end up in Dallas.

THAT is up to a bunch of ping pong balls. if the nets win the lottery or at least get the second pick, Deron isnt going anywhere, they will either draft a super stud (the unibrow) or package it for howard

this. mavericks are in for a long dry spell. honestly i would consider trading dirk but i know that will never happen with the emotional attachment to him.

We'll see.

well, if you really want to improve the chances the lakers get him, root for the nets to NOT get a top 3 pick, because otherwise, he isnt going anywhere, i guarantee it!

Mavericks need another big man to take the defensive pressure off Dirk.

What will happen is they will replace Kidd with Nash and at best break even.

I hope he goes to the Lakers ...... the rift between him and Kobe would be instant.

???

Kobe gets a smart, scoring and distributing point guard who plays good defense and you think it'll cause a rift?

If anything, Williams going to LA almost solidifies Dwight's desire to head to the Lakers.

If Phil Jackson really wants to come back and coach...

And I'm the Owner of the Orlando Magic, I sign Phil Jackson and and try to coax Deron Williams to come down to the lovely FLA weather and match up with Dwight Howard.

Just pure speculation on my part though.

I'm shocked Orlando didn't try to make a play for LeBron to team up with Dwight.

Yup ....... I think both will want to be the man.

Kobe is very Jordanesque in this regard ........ I think he wants a sidekick ..... not an equal.

I don't think so at all. I think Kobe wants to win, and he wants teammates to want it as bad as he does.

He knows that he's the aging vet. The Lakers need to make that move, anyway, in order to secure a young piece to build their future around.

Williams is not an equal to Kobe. If he were traded to the Lakers he'd be Kobe's sidekick.

I agree ...... but he would probably not feel that way.

I think he would. Unless Kobe is somehow suddenly unable to score 42 points on 54% shooting, Kobe is still the man.

The over-the-top slurping of the OKC Thunder yesterday on sports radio was nauseating, especially with the amount of disrespect they were throwing at Kobe as if he's somehow done and can't play and should be traded. You would've thought the Thunder just won their third NBA title and they haven't even sniffed close to the Finals yet, and have an incredibly deep and tough Spurs team coming up on Sunday.
