Funny how you can read any of these Randy Gregory threads and easily pick out who the potheads are. HINT: They are the people defending this loser with hope he will contribute.
No, I'm in favor of Gregory getting reinstated if he has truely been clean for 2 years AND I don't smoke weed.

He's not a woman beater or murderer. He screwed himself over more than anyone else. He didn't get paid while suspended and didn't gain time towards free agency.

Potheads... clearly. I see right through all of you!

Guilty as charged!
I live a very successful life. It was either pot or mindless opiate based drugs after my accident... Yep no thanks doc! Give me the puff puff pass. Doc said I’m with ya! It’s funny walking into dispensaries and seeing all the different types in there. Doctors, Lawyers, Bankers etc... But I guess if you smoke you’re just judged and deemed a non-productive member of society who has addiction issues.

Not counting on him but if he can chip in 4-5 sacks that would be gravy

This is true. I gave up defending medicinal smoking a long time ago. It's a battle I'm not going to win.
I truly gave up defending recreational smoking, but I'm not ashamed of it.

It is only an addiction issue when you put it ahead of other priorities. For me it is simple, if you offer me a job but a stipulation is I can't smoke weed yet I can't stop then I got a problem. Same way with alcohol, it is only a problem when you can't stop yourself

Given it Goodell making the decision and Gregory is a Cowboy, nothing is certain. But Josh Gordon got a second chance to I am assuming if the rumors are tru about him being clean for the past 2 years then he probably will get a chance to come back. The question is after all this time off will he really make a difference? Can he stay clean for any length of time? Can Dallas depend on him to be there when they need him? Was he really any good to begin with?

We'd all like to think he is the hyped up player we drafted, but at this point he is a long shot.

Here is a bigger question, with the federal government apparently decriminalizing pot use in states which have legalized pot and more and more states legalizing it, what will the NFL policy be for marijuana use among players?

Josh Gordon got multiple chances to come back. He was banned for at least a year in January 2015 and filed for reinstatement January 2016. He failed another test after he filed so his request was denied in April 2016. However, in July 2016 Goodell reinstated him so he could participate in training camp but would have to miss the first 4 games.

Prior to returning, Gordon checked into a rehab facility again and stayed out the entire year. He filed for reinstatement again and was denied, before eventually being reinstated in November 2017.

If Gregory has been clean as being reported, there should be no reason Goodell does not reinstate him. Josh Gordon was a mess and got reinstated twice.

Jeff Cavanaugh said on theFan that Randy's people have a ton of paperwork on testimonials (about 500 people) in support of Randy about his turnaround. Cavanaugh acknowledging that they don't trust the commissioner.

I think Jerry has stuck with him when many of us including myself gave up on Gregory. If reinstated I have little doubt he will be given the chance to earn a spot on this team. If Gregory is able to reach his potential he can thank Jerry Jones for it.
I don't think there is anything wrong as a fan to 'give up on a guy". You have the right to ration out your fandom as you see fit, emotional or not. What I take exception to is the constant personal insults hurled at players.

What is your net after Cheetos and Doritos costs?

...and have you ever tried Nestle Toll House Cookies with Guldens Mustard on them? If not, you don't qualify as a pot head.

I agree. After seeing many others destroy their career and seeing the path Gregory was on gave legit reason to doubt him and essentially giving up on him. I never hated the guy, fact is he seems to be a good guy but still a guy with a substance abuse problem and no use to the Cowboys if he could not get on the field. I hope it works out and feel he is lucky to have an owner like Jerry Jones in his corner.
