Speculation: Cowboys should acquire JPP

What? No! I know you had a hand in this!

If the price makes sense, I see no reason why not. We need more than 2 pass rushing DE's (only one of which actually has a NFL sack).

If we go into the season with only Lawrence as our established pass rushing DE, I think we will be disappointed. No rock should be left unturned to find a value in selecting a suitable replacement for Hardy (assuming he doesn't resign).

That's what I'm saying too. We go Into the season with our starters as dlaw gregory Hayden and Crawford with nobody behind them I would expect 7-9 or less.

You have to give JPP a hand for coming back from his injury so quickly. If JPP came over it would really burn the NYG fans. They would be giving him the finger every time he came on the field. :muttley:

Quite likely the move would blow up in our face.

And yet, "Hellboy" had 24 pressures in 8 games. More than any of our DE's had combined.

JPP, despite not having the sacks, was a monster. Let's also not overlook the 6 pass deflections he had. He's a bit of a meme now, but he's a stud.

I could live with him as the vet DE to rotate with Lawrence and Gregory.

I think a key to this offseason is improving the pass rusher. With two young (hopefully) up-and-comers, we don't really need a supplemental player, and I believe someone like JPP or Mario Williams or DeMarcus Ware (who all fall into that older vet category and might command less money because of it) could provide that leadership/pass rush.

To answer the question, yes....he looked very good for a guy fresh off injury. He was still too much for many OTs to handle 1-1. Is he a budding super star who will get 15 sacks each year? No way.

But he would walk on the field as our best DE....period.

Absolutely ridiculous. He looked "very good" if all you did was watch the highlights. He got absolutely manhandled in the run game because he can't break blocks with one hand. He had one sack in eight games in 2015. He would walk on the field as a back-up to Demarcus Lawrence.

I'd rather spend that money on Aldon Smith.

He can't play the run at all.

If they go after him as a situational pass rusher, it makes some sense, but the guy isn't an every down DE anymore.

DO IT !!!

Living in VA, I saw plenty of Giant games....disagree completely. He was bringing the pressure on pass plays and required extra attention.

Just because his hand is deformed it's not cool to call him a monster, PC brah.

I'd prefer sacks not pressures.

JPP had a good year, but honestly would rather keep Hardy, if, as I suspect the internal issues were overblown.

PFF actually had him at 40 pressures in 8 games.

Sorry, anyone who tries to downplay that is insane especially immediately after injury.

You're not sorry, stop lying.

Great job skipping over the second part of my post. Good for you.

Giants need players and jettisoning him speaks volumes. You have a creepy/weird infatuation with him. Jersey bought already? Fingers crossed you get your wish.

I'll keep hoping for players finishing plays. Good talk, let's not do it again soon.

Ah, the ol' "If they don't want him, he sucks!" argument.

He had more QB pressures than our entire defense combined..........with one hand...........let that sink in awhile fellas to just how bad our pass rush is.

Yes, if a bad team doesn't want a player they can get for cheap it's more than likely a bad sign. Go ask PFF what's your opinion on this

Who said he's cheap? JPP has said everything BUT he'll be cheap. The franchise tag certainly won't be cheap.

So let's go through this again. Insane amount of pressures through 8 games, more than all of our defensive line players behind. Not as good at defending the run as he was before (Mainly due to the club), but he didn't grade out terribly. We need to ignore that when evaluating him because "But the Giants don't want him!"

This is cute.
