Who said he's cheap? JPP has said everything BUT he'll be cheap. The franchise tag certainly won't be cheap.

So let's go through this again. Insane amount of pressures through 8 games, more than all of our defensive line players behind. Not as good at defending the run as he was before (Mainly due to the club), but he didn't grade out terribly. We need to ignore that when evaluating him because "But the Giants don't want him!"

This is cute.

I suspect he won't be cheap if a team thinks he can recover and be as effective as before. But there is a chance he doesn't get the offers he wants and may look at an incentive based contract for a year to prove himself and stick it to Eli twice next year, you never know

I agree, there is a chance he doesn't get an big pay day. But it's silly to assume JPP will be cheap, as of right now the Giants have the option of a franchise tag or giving him a big contract based on 8 games. This is also while needing to decide what they are doing with Prince. Giants are also a team with plenty of holes on the defensive side of the ball, so putting a lot of money into one DE position won't make much sense. But they are also in good cap shape, so JPP might get the contract he wants from them.

I think, if the Giants don't, there will be a team that throws a big deal at him.

Probably fight. Don't think the Giants will tag him because that will be very expensive after last year
But every team wants pass rushers and while he may be damaged he showed he can still play better than most

I don't care if he is cheap! JPP with 2 and a half digits can't sack anybody! Why bother with damaged goods when there are other legitimate options available. When the Midgets let go of JPP, you will then know that he is basically done! Go younger and cheaper please!

This is cute.

Nothing involving you could ever be considered cute.

Let's go over this again, how many sacks did he have? Right.

Let's get the guy with a club, one sack, can't play the run, who won't be cheap but has a studley amount of pressures.

This honestly feels like a keyboard warrior puffing his chest out for the sake of it.

You want this player, I want someone with a full set of digits that can actually get sacks. Spouting PFF numbers isn't going to budge that.

Time to move on with your life.

Haha, so throwing meaningful stats at you, you dismiss in return with ad-hominems and pointless ramblings. I don't give a **** what player you want, really. But when you enter a thread with a mocking tone like JPP has no value, I'm going to throw the stats at you.

If you can't provide anything, YOU move on. Haha, keyboard warrior. My my, the crap people post here on the daily.

Meaningful to you, meaningless to anyone with a couple of live braincells rubbing together. As I've explained over and over again, not sacks, not interested.

Clearly you care because just like a brokeback cowboy you can't quit me, or this pointless argument over your fancy man.

Can't play the run, didn't get sacks not coming cheap according to you, why would I want him.

You keep humping that one note of pressures from PFF like you are trying to convince yourself the subscription was worth it.

We will find out his market soon and it will be put to bed then.

But acting like any of the crap you posted was close to a reasoned, well thought out argument is like saying JPP is thinking of taking up the flute.

Try and move on, your cute little obsession over this is adorable though. Not a lot going on in your life I take it.

Again, I don't care if you want JPP or not, I really don't. I threw facts your way when you attempted to make it seem he's done as a player.

"Put to bed then" - It's already nearly put to bed. DE is valued in this league, it's a premium position, JPP is getting a good pay day. When you have to deflect and only attack the poster, you lose. Keep it coming though.

I can't think of a bigger sign of desperation than signing him. Two years ago they dragged seven sacks out of George Selvie and now they want Hellboy rushing the passer? Come on, you're better than this.

Your initial post. "Desperation", "Hellboy", then you attempt to dismiss a godly amount of pressures that are more than all of our defensive players COMBINED. :lmao2:

It's already nearly put to bed? So not put to bed, gotcha.

Tell me more about these forum laws you made up? What constitutes a win in your beady little eyes?

Your facts are meaningless when I want sacks not pressures, I like this is fifth time I've said it and you've ignored it in every instance. By any chance does you agenda of an insanity man prevent you from processing it? Lick your eyeball twice if yes.

You're damn right, I'm dictating this little debate we are having. I've been in full control since the start.

when I want sacks not pressures

I don't care about your expectations and what you personally want out of a player. The last thing that needs to happen is nonsense that you spewed in your initial post becoming the norm post around here, if by the slim chance we sign JPP, he's our best DE hands down with Lawrence close behind him unless he makes a jump. It would be a good signing.

We did not just lack in the sacks category, but also the pressures category. We've been struggling with that for a few years now. JPP consistently getting pressure on the QB opens up the rest of the line. Your raw stat, the sack column, is a lazy man's evaluation of a player. Luckily, the only job you have is to attempt snarky comebacks and you have no role in what players we sign. Justin Babin would have gotten a huge deal from you after the 2011 season.

I doubt your in full control of your bowl movements.

You clearly care a lot of what I want out of a player if me making a throw away post about one player spurs you into invoking the hallowed PFF stat call up.

And stop acting like you have any form of insight or influence, if you were chocolate bar you'd eat yourself.

What you are saying is Jpp right now is better than Hardy.....

Sacks are a lazy evaluation of a player? Completions can still be made on pressures you lunatic.

Finally

by the slim chance we sign JPP, he's our best DE hands down

Thats just juvenile, you know he can only rush from one side.

I am saying while I wasn't as disappointed in Hardy as many were here, he did not live up to his reputation outside of a couple games. JPP was consistently getting pressure on the QB, deflecting passes, and not even near as bad in the run game as some here are claiming. As for him rushing from one side, again, he's still managing to create more havoc in the backfield.

You want to discuss why just looking at sacks is meaningless? Look at Lawrence's sacks, then look at his pressures. I like the step forward Lawrence took this year, but he was not consistently causing QBs a headache. You want sacks? We all do. Know what I'd like as well? Rattling the QB, getting QB hits, getting him out of the pocket and taking away part of the field due to pressure and not having time to go through his reads.

There is absolutely no reason to downplay pressure on a QB. We need a DE to consistently get after the QB on every play, whether it results in sacks or not.

Imagine all the interceptions he'd have over batted balls without the crab claw.

Imagine all the sacks he'd have with two fully functioning thumbs.

I don't wish to discuss why sacks are overrated with someone sporting a rowdy avatar.

I don't care what you'd like with to go along with anything.

I don't give a bollox if PFF stats make you wish JPP was inside you at this very moment.

No drivel you bring up will change that. You keep forcing your opinion down my throat like your life depends on it. Like Elsa, let it go.

I'll pass, on him you, rowdy and PFF rankings (unless it's counting functional fingers, ten minimum please).

If he gets a juicy free agent deal I will be shocked. Anything other than a one year deal with incentives would surprise me. I'll take what the Cowboys have currently over him. At least they have upside, he's eating burritos with a spork.

I don't want your poxy octodigited player. You not getting this is dragging this place further into the gutter quicker than any perceived slight by a throw away post of a potential FA.

First line: JJ Watt is the king of pass deflections, has 1 INT his entire career. I'm just going to out on a limb here and say having a few extra fingers wouldn't make a difference in that department.

Second line: Unless you can pinpoint that is the exact reason for his lack of sacks, I'll just go ahead and say the burden of proof is on you. There are numerous players in this league that disrupt the backfield without having a high amount of sacks, all 10 fingers.

Third line: That's a cop out, it's the default avatar. Failed joke or you are trying hard to get out of this.

I'm actually not a HUGE fan of JPP, I have my very own criticisms of him. I'm not even advocating signing him, I'm of the stance of signing a cheap pass rushing DE and seeing what we got in Gregory next season. What I AM doing, and have done quite well, is countering your initial post making it seem it would be a joke to sign him when he will most likely have interest in the open market for good reason. He'd be a good signing and would have an immediate impact on our defensive line.

But at least you seem to be trying with your arguments now. That's an improvement.

Too bad they can't fit him with Han's claw hand (Enter the Dragon); he would be lethal.
