I personally see no advantage to cut any QB now, since there is not anything better out there...Maybe later is someone or something opens up ? Who knows ?

Only advantage I see is if they either-

A - Want to bring in a vet backup. If that's the case, the sooner they do it the better, so he can get familiar with the offense. Or

B - They really see something in this Mroz kid, who supposedly has a strong arm and obviously coming from Yale has some smarts. If they see a lot of the same issues with Henson as last year and don't think he's progressing, they may want to spend the developmental time on Mroz instead.

B is obviously a big longshot, as they will probably carry Mroz anyway into camp to preserve Bledsoe's arm. However, if they are really feeling good about the season, A is a possibility....

After BP pissed all over Henson I don't feel so great about him anymore....but, it doesn't make sense to cut Henson now. He improved in Europe so you might as well wait and see how he does in camp.

I believe.

Henson is not the future here and he will be leaving us sooner than later.

I agree, and whether the prediction thing is right or not doesnt matter. I just don't think he has a future remaining here with dallas. Hope to see him in...oh idk how about Cleveland :laugh1:

A. I don't see any vets out there. Unless you count Testaverde. Collins reportedly wants considerable $$$ to play.

B. We can carry Mroz on the PS just as easily. Or just let him and Henson battle it out in TC. It would be stupid to go with a rookie FA just b/c he threw well in a minicamp.

I don't think they would go with him because he threw well in a mini-camp, they might though if Henson didn't or hasn't picked up the things they are expecting from him yet.

Like I said, huge longshot, just throwing out hypothetheticals. I pretty much expect Henson to be in camp this year, barring a deal for a vet backup.

Well if you talked to your source a couple of weeks ago he would have had this one right.

But funny post.:laugh1:

Brady Quinn.....anyone?
That's as likely to happen as it was to draft Vince Young this year.
That is unless a team favored by Vegas odds to make the Super Bowl flop and are the worst team in the NFL.

They would have to give up the farm to draft Quinn and it ain't gonna happen.

I'm actually with Hos on this one. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened either, and it has nothing to do with Mike's "source".

My attention was raised when JJT wrote an article about the Cowboys might be ready to sack the Henson project. He didn't say that anyone told him that, but I just haven't see JJT throw out too much stuff without something else being there.

I don't believe this report. At all. The only logical reason to bring in a vet would be as a backup. I can't see this for 2 reasons:
1) BP likes Romo 2) The list of vets out there is very short. JJ wouldn't spend an extra 750k a year to sign Adam Vinatieri but he's going to give Kerry Collins as much money as his starter to carry a clipboard? I don't think so. After Collins please give me the list of available vets out there likely better than Romo in BP's eyes? <crickets>

No way you bring in a vet to be 3rd string. Your third string guy needs to be a prospect. Mroz is a likely practice squad guy anyway. IMO even if Mroz lights it up in camp Henson will be given every chance to keep his spot and IMO Henson will get his chance to move up to #2. I do think, as I've said before, if Henson fails to move up this year this will likley be his last year in Dallas.

No, this report smells fishy. Ain't buying it. Now if we hear Henson is demanding his release, well that's a different story.

It wouldnt surprise me one bit if Henson gets cut....

We havent exactly had a good reputation in the last decade in developing or drafting a QB

Henson is what he is.....and I think Bill already knows that.

You look for that "it" in a QB.....and in Parcell's eye's.....Henson doesn't have "it".....IMHO...

he told me its definatly going to happen. He said Dallas is just keeping him around so he has time to recover completly from his injury from europe this way he will be able to pass another teams physical

If he could not pass another teams physical, he would not have been participating in the mini camp.......next:laugh1:

Hmmm, I hadn't even thought of that... of course, you're right...

really doubt any of the above actually happened or will take place...especially the part about trying to trade him and "constantly complaining about his injury"...he has never been that type of player, I really doubt he'd change his ways all of the sudden
David

I don't believe the story either, but nobody knows what kind of player he is behind the scenes. For all we know, he might be a player that whines about his injuries and has a low pain threshold. If he is, that could explain the perception some have that Coach Parcells is down on him.
