this is a lot of bs........not because i dont think henson could be cut, but why in two weeks............now traded maybe..........but to cut a kid that is on a cheap contract that saves you nothing by cutting him is ridiculous, hell if he is just your third stinger and a camp arm for the life of his contract it aint bad......bring in a vet is laughable unless someone is gonna be cut i dont know about, right now there is nothing out there Jerry would spend money on.......package with ellis for a trade, i wish then maybe atlanta would give up schaub, and the deal would make sense........lastly if mroz has made bp think he is the real deal, and i can only hope, he would still take all four to camp and make the cut after the preseason

There is no way that Mroz has shown enough for any decision to be made on anyone else.

1) Vinny Testeverde.

Now that finished throwing up again - in reality Vinny might not be too bad of a choice for a BACKUP insurance policy in case Bledsoe got hurt. If we're really gearing up for a run this season, you just can't feel comfortable with Romo (or Henson) to come off the bench for an extended period of time.

IMO - the millon dollar question is whether or not BP and JJ feel this is the season. If so, then you have to think they want some experience coming in for the #2 position.

If they feel we're still another year away, then they take the risk with the inexperience at the backup QB.

Don't forget Palmer has been working with him for a while before mini-camps.

Not saying you are wrong, but they have seen a lot more of him than just the rookie and mini camp practices.

I'm actually with Hos on this one. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened either, and it has nothing to do with Mike's "source".

My attention was raised when JJT wrote an article about the Cowboys might be ready to sack the Henson project. He didn't say that anyone told him that, but I just haven't see JJT throw out too much stuff without something else being there.

Parcells says he sees improvement but was expecting "a little more" and the specualtion runs rampant.

Vinny's done and Bill knows it. I really think he'd play Romo over Vinny right now.

Wow, I think it's a big mistake to release him IF we do.

And if we brought Testeverde back in? I'd puke. And then puke again.

But it sure seems to be that Parcells likes Romo and does not like Henson. But who knows for real, with the way Parcells likes to play his jedi mind tricks and such.

If we cut him then wouldn't we lose his NFLE roster exemption, or do they no longer have the NFLE roster exemption?

Yet another valid point and hole shot into this report.

Honestly, I don't believe a word of it. He read JJT's article and decided to use his imaginary source again as the "proof."

When it doesn't happen he'll conveniently say something has delayed it.

What's it going to be then, eh?

It was a bad attempt at humor. But I think Parcells might do it as a third string if Henson was indeed let go. Romo is his backup, I think that's pretty clear.

Just not buying that we cut Henson, at least not in the next two weeks.

One, we lose the NFLE exemption which we won't do.

Two, of the vet QBs out there who would be better than Henson --- Collins, old, wants to start, throws a zillion INTs; Fielder - you have to be kidding; Maddox - Crayton would be a better option than him; Banks - been there done that; Blake - see Banks; Testaverde - forgive me as I get off the floor from laughing. Just no QBs out there.

Three, need four QBs in training camp for at least the first couple of weeks, then I could see Henson being cut if Mroz shows better.

Four, well Jerry hasn't given up on Henson yet so even if he is third string this year, I could see him staying.

Five, even if we find a vet QB, Romo will have far more experience in our offense and what vet worth his salt wants to be the third string guy.

Maybe it will happen but the observations are at least not until after a few weeks after training camp.

Yeah - Garrett was the epitomy of an experienced backup during or 93 and 95 superbowl seasons.

All good and valid points.

Unless Henson has had a Hutchonian "What's my role?" moment, we should see him in camp.

This is what Im getting from my Guy who works with the Cowboys. Rumor has it Henson is going to be cut and a Vet backup brought in. He's telling me that Jerry Jones tried to shop henson in the draft with no buyers and now they will probably just cut there ties with him since hes got an easy contract to back out of.

Also he told me during the Mini Camp Henson was constantly complaining about his injury he suffered in europe, some think as an excuse for his poor showing at the camp.

In anycase He tells me within 2 weeks henson will be Cut and that the browns did show some interest in him during the draft.

If this was true, wouldn't BP have been a little more generous with his commentary on Henson's performance in Europe??? Build up the product so to speak?

In any event...I guess we will know shortly if your info is legit...

If Henson is cut it won't come until after he's had a Chance to beat out Romo in Camp.

He beat Romo out his first year with no NFLE experience but Now that he has it and has shown Improvement the Cowboys aren't even going to give him the chance? BS!

He's the 3rd String QB right now...There is no need or Rush to cut him now even if they are going to.

And I don't believe for one Minute that Henson is going around camp Complaining about his knee.

I can think of a possible replacement. QC.

Now that would be interesting.

And all this wasted draft pick talk about the Commanders. They didnt guive up a 3rd rounder for Henson.
