Fuzzy what do you think triggered the change to the current system which seems to be paying big dividends with the upgrade in talent. I also like the way we are getting younger each year. Go CowboysWhat do you think GMs in other clubs do?
For example when Coughlin signed his last extension with Giants he negotiated more control over the roster. Previously he gave input to Reese and Reese put together the roster. After the agreement it was a big to do about him how having control over what was at that time the gameday 45 while Reese could churn the remaining 8.
Another example would be the Charger's GM who has complete roster control.
Mike Brown, John Mara, Jerry Richardson and many other owners use their GMs like chamberlains. I understand that as it allows them to control the situation while shielding them from criticism like what we see from you. I actually like how Jerry is upfront and out in the open about it.
Unlike a lot of those arrangements, Jerry runs things more like a council where the HC, Stephen, McClay, and others contribute to the decision. I don't know the exact mechanics but it is not the autocratic method we see from many other clubs.
The team has gotten better under this system since it came to the fore around 2012.
So far he is about as sturdy as Chaz Green but they will keep anybody with a prayer of rushing the QB around.I can see the following being borderline cuts:
K Moore
Tapper
Thorton
Neochka
White
Frazier
How many coaching staffs have to determine that you cant play before it is a concensus?Texans cut Devin Street. Fortunately I don't get same trash vibe from Noah Brown.
Why do you an other agenda driven fans continue this nonsense. JERRY JONES IS THE GENERAL MANAGER. IT IS HIS CALL WHO MAKES THE 53. There have been many articles published that detail how Jerry makes his decision with information from different departments, but it is his final decision. Get over it already.hilarious....
Day 1 starting PR against the Giants. Book it.Well, alright. Now let's cut Switzer. We don't need that circus crap.

because he's good at what he does. But on regular offense that is limited I suppose by the number of downs he playsI don't get the K Smith thing. The other Smith can play FB.
Yes, he has become a really good player. Not like Keith he cannot. He is the best blocking FB since Moose and he blows up LB out of the hole. I don't know that there is a better blocking FB in the league. Now that he has expanded in the passing game it is a no brainer.
You aren't carrying 5 RBs. So if K Smith stays, then the other Smith is likely gone. Carrying 5 RBs and 6 WRs seems excessive.
Plus how often do we even run out of a two back set? Is it enough to justify carrying a 5th RB to make room for K Smith? I ask because I don't know.

We invested a 4th in Ryan Russell and cut him after his first year(he actually showed more than tapper). I haven't seen tapper do anything warranting a roster spot. If it is indeed 8:Way doubtful on Thornton as he is the only vet interior depth. And Tapper simply has too much invested in him for them to give up on him.
Tapper has reportedly had a great camp. They usually don't cut draft picks that have great camps. We invested a 4th in Ryan Russell and cut him after his first year(he actually showed more than tapper). I haven't seen tapper do anything warranting a roster spot. If it is indeed 8:
Lawrence
Crawford
Charlton
Mayowa
Paea
Collins
Thornton
Neal
That would be my guess
