Nothing we have NOT heard here guys. Just thought I would post what I just saw todd mcshay say on espn news and it reiterates what many of us have thought ever since we acquired the browns #1 in last years deal.

Just saw todd mcshay on espn news and they discussed his new mock draft. He had Mcfadden going to Oakland at #4 overall in the draft and mentioned that Al Davis will likely look to trade down as he just paid Russell BIG money last year as #1 overall and wouldnt want to make the investment on another top 5 pick this year. He then said look out for a potential blockbuster deal between dallas and oakland with dallas giving up both firsts to move up and get mcfadden bc of Jerry Jones' ties to arkansas.

That is a terrible trade for us.

We have a top 5-10 RB in this league in MB3 and that kid is a walking character issue that might not even translate to NFL on the damn field.

Lets address rest of depth needs and still get a quality RB in one or two....

do not let that happen.

Absolutely agree. IMO, if we shore up the WR, CB and safety positions, we could position ourselves to compete for championships for years.

Keeping our two #1 picks allows us to focus on two of those positions whereas getting McFadden is more of a luxury pick, IMO, given Barbers status.

Of course, we need a good complimentary RB to Barber, but I still feel we don't need to give away the farm when we can just stand pat and let the draft come to us and find that compliment in middle rounds.

awhile ago, I would have been down for trading up to land McFad, but w/ so many good, young talent at RB in this draft, it's just not worth it

He got in a skirmish at a night club once a few weeks ago, protecting his brother, and didn't even get arrested. He's hardly a character issue and I'm on the forefront of not drafting guys with character issues.

I would be very upset if we gave away our 2 first rounders to move up and grab McFadden. McFadden won't help our CB problem nor can he help Romo at the WR position. This better not happen.

I wouldn't say PFT is a premiere source of news, Rich, but McFadden does carry some baggage with him that he's going to have to explain...

BUYER BEWARE ON McFADDEN?

So now it's official. After his father denied reports that Arkansas running back Darren McFadden will enter the NFL draft, McFadden announced on Monday that he's headed for the next level.

Though last week's non-arrest arrest of McFadden hasn't seemed to damage his standing as a top-tier draft pick, it's not the first incident of this nature involving the two-time Heisman runner-up.

In 2006, before McFadden emerged as a figure of national prominence in college football, McFadden was involved in a fight outside of another bar (or, possibly, the same one).

The situation arose on a Saturday at 4:20 a.m. Strike one. McFaddden reportedly was fighting with someone he didn't know in a parking lot, while a crowd watched. Strike two. McFadden needed surgery for a dislocated toe because McFadden "was kicking and kicking at [the other guy] and his shoe came off and his foot hit the pavement."

And . . . strike . . . three.

Sorry, Darren. Too much money gets invested in players taken at the top of round one. And the Commish no longer messes around with guys who can't conform to the basic requirements of society.

We're not saying he should be taken off of the board. But the stakes are too high for him to be taken in the top three, possibly too high for him to be selected in the top ten.

What we do in the draft depends entirely on how FA goes.

We need to resign Canty, Barber, and Hamlin (and possibly Flo). We have to upgrade the CB position. We'll have both TO and Newman entering the final years of their contracts......lots to do.

Now, if we take care of our players.....then, we're able to sign a solid CB and WR in FA, then we might try a "blockbuster deal" to land McFadden.

But that seems far-fetched.

The one thing to note....this draft is very deep at RB and CB. Their may not be many blue-chippers, but there is a lot of red-chippers.

If we give up two first rounders for McFadden and keep our second....then, it wouldn't sting so bad. There would still be a solid player CB available.

He hurt his foot badly in another bar incident last year..... And was seen riding a $100K Escalade recently his Mommy bought him.

I'm not trading 2-3 #1'S FOR A GUY I'M NOT CONVINCED CAN DOMINATE ON SUNDAYS AND GIVE HIS FAMILY $30M in the process.... in a very deep RB class!

Unfortunately I heard that report also and can verify what glorydaysrback is saying is true. That would be a bad trade for the Cowboys as far as I am concerned.

Top 5 money on DMac plus what will have to pay MB3 just isn't something I would do.

Save the picks and get F. Jones if you want to go RB that high. We don't need to invest 2 #1's on a RB that will only split the carries.

i agree guys, a few months ago and in the summer especially, i was in love with mcfadden, but im hearing now that he cant cut too good, he is more of a straight ahead runner, but maybe he was hurt too kinda like adrian peterson was his last year at college, remember thats why peterson fell injury issue, and saying he couldnt stay healty;

i say this, do your homework with your scouts, there are 6-8 good running backs coming out in the draft this year, McFadden, Felix jones, that guy from illinoies i think merre something, rice, charles from texas, smith, and guy from oregon, now i think the last 2 are big risks, but the others are good rbs, maybe one of them is a young emmitt smith, i say do your homework

sign your upcoming players like hamlin, newman, canty and barber, and the snapper, then go get about 2-3 good free agents, if you can i say this go get one kinda like a charles haley or a everett thomas player in secondary, remember he was the guy that made big plays at pittsburgh and jimmy johnson picked him up, we need a nasty player on defense to make this team have a swagger on defense, and attitude this is our house,

kinda like when the cowboys picked up herb adderly from the green bay packers and he told the cowboys after showing them his super bowl rrings from green bay, i am going to show u guys what it takes to win the super bowls, and he helped the players grow up and become leaders, thats what we need on this team, ever since darren woodson left, last big player on our defense retired, we havent had that swagger and nasty attitude,

anway got get a couple or 3 free agents, then if you have a good cb and a wr maybe like roy wiliams, then you can make that trade for McFadden if he is the real deal, but dont forget his last playoff game, he got shut out, just let our scouts look at the rbs, and then tell jerry jones what he needs to do,

If Jerry does this, then it will show that he has chosen to go back to his wildcatting ways versus building a solid team with depth built for longevity.

Having said that, it could work and Jerry could strike black gold and land a hall of fame RB that competes at a high level for 10 years. However, it could kill our cap in the process.

IMHO, it's a big gamble that doesn't need to be made given the depth at RB and the other needs we have on our team
