I was being sarcastic. There are only so many players that can be active on Gameday. What other player did you plan on keeping?

I would like to see what Michael Sam can do if given the chance.

We're not getting much of a pass rush from the current defensive ends and Sam might make a difference until if and when Spencer sees the field again.

I'm sure medical staff was involved but even at that it is a range not an exact time of when they feel he is ready. I think the work he will be getting over the next week will help determine if he can take the next step in his recovery.

Could they not have Michael Sam on the 53-man roster, active, and maybe actually contributing to a pass rush that can use the help?

Its not so much about weeks as it is about wins.
If we win one more game because Spencer was active than if he wasn't it was well worth it.
Not sure how to quantify or prove that in the end but that is obviously the goal.

I think Dallas had every right to believe they'd be 2-1 through 3 weeks.
Spencer missing those 3 is probably not a deal breaker.

Now you get into weeks 4,5,6 and the sched looks more daunting.
Saints, Texans, Seahawks. I think you want Spencer for those if he can go at anything resembling his old self.

I wonder if practicing a little bit in some way mean...Wearing shorts and a T shirt while riding a bicycle and watching practice across the field.

I'd hazard a guess and say some individual drills, no team practice, and then off to the side for more rehab stuff.

Yes, the individual stuff most likely. He could have done those things while on the PUP.
