That's probably because the entire plot builds up to a single twist that entirely changes the viewers perspective. Once the illusion is revealed, it's hard to get the same level of enjoyment out of it.
if you like a movie enough you'll rewatch it, people rewatch Titanic and that damn boat sinks every time

Pretty obvious people like The 6th Sense. It was very well received and won a ton of awards.

Liking a movie and its replay value aren't the same. Of course some people will rewatch a movie they like solely because they like it. That doesn't mean a lack of replay value immediately means the movie is disliked.

so we want our make believe movies to be more believable?

Yes it had to be
You are obviously not s Scifi fan
In scifi the writer can 'create' the rules but the story then had to be logical within the confines of those rules

ok, so only tap water kills the aliens, now everyone should feel better

If only I were so lucky. I could have just drank a glass of water and put myself out of my own misery, thus, saving myself from watching the entire film.

Oh well......

He gets a bad wrap.
Undeservingly.

His movies are in the spirit of the twilight zone.
What? He made a movie about wind. The only good movie he's made is The Sixth Sense.

This movie looks good in the trailer, but I guarantee in classic M. Night Shamlanalaman fashion, it will end with the dumbest twist you could possibly think of.

I feel like I just watched the whole movie.
You have. Just add in some dumb twist like its the girl that actually has multiple personality disorder, and the entire movie is in her head.

Wasn't about wind... Lol

It was undeniably creepy with unexpected scenes of horror.... And a touch of mankinds fear of chaos.

I like Star Wars, I just have to deal with that silly gravity in deep space.

Star Wars takes the 'fiction' part of SciFi to an extreme

There are plenty of very very good SciFi books/series

I never found The Happening scary because it wasn't really meant to be that. It was M. Night poking fun at ridiculous stories such as Birds (He's a big Hitchcock fan)

It was very much in the way of films like Cabin in the Woods. While these films aren't exactly for me, I was always surprised how many critics completely missed this on initial release. I blame marketing in the same way I did with Lady in the Water.

Oh man, guys get out there and see this movie! The twist to this film is A+. I actually feel it NEEDS to be spoiled. It put a smile on my face, and for those who were up in the air about this film and aren't planning on seeing it, I'm going to put the spoiler down below so stop reading if you guys are planning on watching it at some point

*Spoilers*

This movie takes place in the Unbreakable universe and David Dunn (Bruce Willis) makes an appearance setting up for a true sequel to Unbreakable.

I see the spoiler warning on my screen, and I'm doing my best to not read the last line there. It's funny you mentioned the twist being A+. I just read a review (Capone on Aint it Cool News) that said it didn't really have his usual twist.

Looks good.
But it is an M.Night movie, so I will pass on this unless it somehow gets amazing RT score.

It's been more than 10 years since he made something worth watching I think?

yea, I actually wanted to see it, until the other day I realized it was M Knight Shyamalan. If it gets good reviews, I'll give it a try, but I really only liked The 6th Sense and Signs. Unbreakable and The Village were boring ** to me

In this one that is the twist

You keep waiting for it and it never comes lol

I'm just kidding btw as I have no intention of watching it

One of the worst movies I've ever seen. By far the worst M Sham movie. I actually didn't mind movies like The Happening.
