Slaton would be a 4th round pick for me anyway. Tufele would be my 2nd round pick.
If you take Tufele, there is no reason to take Slayton at all. Tufele is a 3 down 1T. If you want a guy as depth, definitely dont waste a 4th on him

If you draft Tufele and Slayton, Slayton plays maybe 100 snaps a year

Fair enough, I'd take Tufele of the two of them. I consider him to be the best DT in the draft.

I'd rather draft some quality so we have it for a few years.

Hill and Gallimore are here. Woods is potentially the bubble if we bring in lots of guys. McCoy seems lined up to be a cheapo vet option.

I'd rather draft a DT or two high and play them, instead of playing a short timer vet who will keep us from drafting more DTs and putting the young ones we have on the field.

Lots of NTs/1Ts starting around round 3 too.
Tyler Shelvin is the guy. I like Tufele but we don’t need another 3 tech. We need someone to take on double teams, and help in the run game, and also help our backers stay clean for once.

  • Poona Ford 5'11 and 311 lbs (my least favourite of the ones listed)
  • Bonus - Hassan Ridgeway 6'3" and 305 lbs

Give me Dalvin Tomlinson...24 years old. 2nd rounder out of Alabama. Plays for a division rival. Can flat out play. Improves this run defense instantly and weakens the Giants defense by leaving.

I'm not sure the Giants will let him walk, but if they do this could be a great pickup. He'll probably get a similar contract to what Eddie Goldman signed with the Bears. Goldman's first year cap hit was $3.75M. That's also what it would cost to give Antwuan Woods a second-round RFA tender. We could absolutely make this work, and we should.

Which means we wont.

  • Dalvin Tomlinson 6'3" and 317 lbs
  • Shelby Harris 6'3" and 300 lbs
  • Johnathan Hankins 6'2" and 325 lbs
  • DaQuan Jones 6'4" and 322 lbs

What do you all think of these options? I'd personally love to get Tomlinson in FA and Tufele and/or Tederrell Slaton (Floridda) in the draft at DT.

Ford is a restricted FA? Seattle will make a tender offer on him and retain the right to match any offers he gets. I am sure they will pay him more than Dallas will offer, but next year could be a different story.

Any of these guys would be a big improvement over the current DT rotation. I would add Sheldon Rankins to this list as well.

Give me McNeil in the top of the 3rd and Bobby Brown in the top 5th.

McNeil can play two gap and hold ground
Brown is a big guy with a quick first step that can 1 gap who can also play the 3T when needed in Big packages.

Dallas has plenty of draft picks to get these two guys.

Tufele and Slaton are the 2 DTs that I'd draft. Tufele in round 2 and Slaton in round 4.

Bingo!!!!! Maybe I'm missing something but finding a decent 1 tech/NT shouldn't that hard.......320+lbs with the right intangibles with intangibles being the key. In other words, a hard worker who understands his job is not about his OWN stats but helping other players elevate theirs or to be blunt, doing the dirty work.
