Where is this unnamed source coming from? From the original poster? Or is there a report saying this? I didn't see anything about Shanahan in the story posted.

From the OP, it looks like... Who if memory serves has a history of shady "rumors".

i'd be all for it if MS would take the OC position for 1 year and promised under the table to get the HC job next year!

He has 2 Super Bowl wins.

The Coordinator days are long gone.

What planet am I on?

If Shanahan is going to be the HC here in Dallas Schefter will be letting us know ASAP.

Why, if we were going to get Shanny, would they wait all the way till Wednesday to do it? lol

Jerry would wait till Wednesday because he wants to take some of the news away from the Super Bowl :p:

I got an E-mail saying this is true. He's gone.

So . . . . what's your best guess on what happens next with our beloved Cowboys?

I think I recall the NFL being somewhat peeved with Jones' handling of the Parcells hire, when only a cursory nod was given to the Rooney Rule. A quick hiring of Shanahan probably would attract the league's attention, regardless of whether a minority were interviewed. And I think this... If Dallas makes a "token" interview to satisfy the Rooney Rule, it deserves to lose draft picks. The rule was designed to assure minorities a legitimate chance at these head coaching positions. The circumvention of the rule makes me a bit nauseous.

Were gonna be rid of Stewy and Ginger in a two day span? Am I dreaming? Is this real?

Yeah, I woke up to read that Stewart was out. I was like "WAT?". I thought Stewart was going to stay on as basically a puppet DC.

Ray Sherman BETTER NOT be our next OC, that is all I have to say on that subject.

Wade to DC.
Shanahan to HC, and runs the O.

Shanahan hasn't even had an interview with us. I haven't even read a report where he has even "talked" to Jerry.

It's because Shanny and Jerry are going over contract parameters in Jerry's private jet while sitting on the tarmack. :D

Jerry Jones' text to Shanahan: "OMG TO has G2G!!"

IIRC, the Broncos were trying to land TO when he was a FA also.

TO is staying, like it or not.

Owens has run another coach out of town

If Shanahan comes, I guess that means Owens also has brought a better coach into town. Shanahan wanted TO as well...

Yeah because if you were offered a HC job, you wouldnt take it.

HC jobs don't come around that often for everybody.

What about the Chiefs who have yet to name a headcoach (but no African-American candidate has even been mentioned), the Browns hired Mangini, the Lions hired Jim Schwartz, the Rams look to be hiring Jason Garrett, the Broncos hired the offensive coordinator from the Patriots. Were any potential African-Americans even interviewed?

But if the Cowboys have someone like Mike in mind, then we must be breaking the Rooney rule. Hogwash I say! Hogwash!

Yeah, and Romo's interceptions are the equivalent of punts and throwing that pick to Reed was a genius move by Romo cause Ware forced the fumble aftewards.
