What about the Chiefs who have yet to name a headcoach (but no African-American candidate has even been mentioned), the Browns hired Mangini, the Lions hired Jim Schwartz, the Rams look to be hiring Jason Garrett, the Broncos hired the offensive coordinator from the Patriots. Were any potential African-Americans even interviewed?

But if the Cowboys have someone like Mike in mind, then we must be breaking the Rooney rule. Hogwash I say! Hogwash!

A bunch of those teams interviewed Leslie Frazier from the Vikings, and one also interviewed Raheem Morris from the Bucs IIRC.

Yeah because if you were offered a HC job, you wouldnt take it.

HC jobs don't come around that often for everybody.

There are 32 HC jobs in the NFL, and only a handful are up for grabs annually.

IIRC, the Broncos were trying to land TO when he was a FA also.

TO is staying, like it or not.

Yes, but no other player's initials were as easily understandable in text form. So TO had to be made an example of in the sample text. :lmao2:

Yeah, and Romo's interceptions are the equivalent of punts and throwing that pick to Reed was a genius move by Romo cause Ware forced the fumble aftewards.

That was scripted. You didn't know that? C'mon maan! ;)

If Shanahan comes, I guess that means Owens also has brought a better coach into town. Shanahan wanted TO as well...
i'm pretty sure no HC has ever won a superbowl with 2 different teams so i wouldn't be that happy.

What about whatever and whoever? The point is to do what's right.

My thoughts exactly - that's the brass ring, and let's face it, an NFL head coaching position is like pizza - ain't no bad NFL head coaching position, it's an NFL head coaching position!

Fletch F. Fletch. I can tell by your moniker we're going to get along just fine...

To the people who are upset about losing RJ... Why?

It can't be the results he put on the field.

I'm guessing it's more an anti-Wade feeling than a pro-Garrett feeling. And if you hate Wade, at worst he'll be here one more year. And then we'll have Holmgren, Cowher, and maybe Shanahan to choose from. All are far better candidates than a guy whose offense only goes backwards when Tony Sparano leaves and whose schemes opposing players ridicule.

So what's the huge downside? I don't get it.

Would've made a new thread, but it probably would've gotten merged anyway.

You are right on that one, but Tom Flores won 1 with the Oakland Raiders and 1 with the Los Angeles Raiders :p:

"Probably" isn't a 100% chance.

I forgot. Romo is the ultimate rationalizer and always has the master plan!

And who is to say the Cowboys won't? But to start pointing the finger at something that hasn't even come to fruition is just gay.

It all depends on what Jones does next.

If he is intending to get rid of Phillips, I don't think the Garrett situation is painful.

If he continues on with this ridiculous continuity theme (when now there isn't any with both coordinators gone), then it is a huge disaster.

That means his idea of continuity is keeping one of the weakest head coaches in the National Football League.

He has 2 Super Bowl wins.

The Coordinator days are long gone.

What planet am I on?

If Shanahan is going to be the HC here in Dallas Schefter will be letting us know ASAP.

Technically, he has 3 SB wins. 2 as a HC with the Broncos, and 1 as an assistant coach with SF. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I take your point, but I said "if." I realize the Cowboys haven't done anything wrong, at this point. Unfortunately, I think they'll keep Wade. And by the way... I didn't mean to call you out, if that was how it seemed. I'm just a little tired of teams giving the merest nod to the Rooney Rule.

It's because of the chance that Garrett could go on and become a great coach, the one we've been waiting for and he was right here all along right under Jerry's nose. Here we are, stuck with Wade F'NG Phillips while Jerry had a young guy like Sparano here already who could have continued the Parcells philosophy of discipline and accountability. Now we have this potential sterling coaching lineup to look forward to:

HC: Wade Phillips
OC: Ray Sherman
DC: Dave Campo

I can't wait to see this coaching cluster---- next year.

Not a prob. It's hard enough to read what somebody types down and truly understand how they intended it to sound.:
