I think the exact same thing... Brady hardly gets pressured, and when he does, he makes mistakes, aka Sand Diego last year and his 4 interceptions... his OL is great...

So then was Troy over rated? From 91 on Troy was not sacked many times at all including back to back years of 14 sacks which is a lot less than Brady

You could say the same for Aikman.

I would definitely disagree with the idea that Aikman was overated during his career. Favre and Young both were looked upon by the mainstream media as better and more dynamic players than Aikman. Aikman was always portrayed as a step behind them so there is no way you can say he was overated.

Aikman always gets the (the team was so good) distinction and (he had Irvin, Emmitt and Novacek) distinction and was never IMO overated during his career.

I hope the game lives up to what it could be. If any game should be a shootout, it will be that one. I think our offense is good enough to win us the game. The Pat's defense is good, but I don't see them stopping all of our weapons.

I have to admit I have no idea how the defense will do in the game. I think their offense is kinda like ours...to many weapons to stop. It might be good enough to win them the game.

Hopefully we get passed Buffolo 5-0 and we are ready to take out best shot against the Pats. Hopefully its right to the mouth and they fold.

I never thought the mainstream media considered Farvre and Young better. I think it was a lot like Manning and Brady. Just depends on who you ask which one was better.

IMO he should get that distinction. I'm the ONLY one in Cowboy nation that never was a big Aikman fan and always thought he was overrated.

Brady has done just as much and will end doing more with less.

Brady was extremely lucky in that he was from the beginning with a very good O line and D and rest of team. He has NEVER taken the kind of punishment Aikman did early on. Or just about every other top QB. Did Elway have a top O line? Montana? The only other one I can think of that did was Roger. And HE played back in the times when the QB even on top teams got a lot more punishment then they do now.

How does this sound?

Press/Jam the receivers HARD off the line then go into Man coverage while sending a heavy blitz attack?

Thoughts?

There is one thing about Brady that I have noticed that goes on quite a bit, more this season than in previous - Brady's frustration level when he is indeed pressured, sacked, or just plain hit after releasing the ball.

The "pretty boy" Brady knows his Patriots are the elite favorites this year, and his on-the-field persona and body language wreaks of an "I'm better than you" - cockiness. I noticed a play Monday night when a Bengals defender pressured Brady to the ground. Brady got up extremely upset and the look on his face was priceless. It was like, "How did this guy actually touch me, much less, knock me to the ground?"

Brady looked infuriated.

That is what it's going to take. The Cowboys must pressure Brady, and constistanly be in his face and taking him down to the ground. Brady is a really good QB, but is also prone to making bad throws when pressured. And it's noticeable. Give Brady time, and it's like taking candy from a baby, he'll make you pay.

I can't believe that more people didn't see Brady throwing into the ground when he was pressured with really nowhere to go. He was throwing the ball 5 yards in front of the receivers when pressured.

I noticed that. He was pressured by the Bengals on several occasions forcing him to throw lame duck ground passes to nobody. You could tell it was frustrating him. We pressure "Mr. All Day to throw" and score a couple times EARLY in the first half, then we might have a great chance of beating the so-called un-beatable patriots.

You and Jimz31 are correct. Brady is not the best at handling, in your face pressure. He does not have the legs or the moves to get out the way. Brady tends to become errant in his throws, sometimes throwing to guys who aren't even in the vacinity of the ball.

Pressure Brady, and he'll make mistakes. Don't get me wrong, Brady is a top 5 QB in this league, but he does have flaws, and aggressive defenses will expose them.

That should be his new nick-name...

Yeah, then how did he get all those concussions?

Must of been from giving his OL headbutts for all that great protection he got.

He didn't get sacked a lot, but he sure as hell got pressured. I understand AIkman liked to hold the ball a bit longer to give his WRs time to get separation, but you don't get 12 concussions unless you've been getting pressured.

And I didn't even mention all the back problems.

Brady has been sacked more times than Manning yet he has helped his team to 3 championship so I take it Manning is also highly overrated? I don't get it these 2 guys produce year in and year out because they are great players and just seem like sour grapes when I hear people talking about being over rated. Brady and Manning numbers stack up with the best to play the game and have gone out and earned it.

Manning is overrated. I already posted that.

Go ahead and read my posts in this thread if you want to have a discussion. I shouldn't have to repeat myself in the same thread.

He was a statue in the pocket. Brady gets rid of the ball quicker and has a knack of sliding away from pressure.

Like I said before. I never was a Aikman fan. Wasnt when he was a player. Still not as a broadcaster. Hes overrated in both areas.JMO

Aikman ran a timing-based offense and is considered one of, if not, the most accurate passer ever. His release was incredibly quick. There is also the fact that nobody was better than Aikman at putting a ball in a place before the receiver even got there. Plus, you could do all you wanted with the receiver back in the day.

QFT

He was severely ticked off after picking himself up off the ground. He doesn't like that at all. We need to knock him off his feet all day.
