Bruce Carter had six tackles and his second sack of the season, but he didn't have an interception. He feels he should have.
"I think I did a great job," Carter said. "Coach told me I did a great job of reading the quarterback’s eyes and breaking on the ball. I've just got to finish and catch and go to the house."
At the end of the first half, with the Chiefs facing a third-and-10 at the Cowboys 39, Carter got his hands on a throw from quarterback Alex Smith. He might have had a pick-six, adding to the two the Cowboys got in the season opener against the Giants. Instead, Carter dropped it. Orlando Scandrick then blocked the 57-yard field-goal attempt.
"It came at me fast, and it was kind of low to the ground," Carter said. "I was already thinking about going to the end zone before I caught it."
The Cowboys didn't come up with a takeaway against the Chiefs after having five on defense and one on special teams in the opening game. Carter and safety Will Allen both had opportunities for interceptions.
"Me and Bruce Carter both had opportunities to turn the game around to get the offense an extra possession or two. We didn’t do that," Allen said.
