Just before you trot Dez out there, just tell him to knock the ball down.

Problem solved.

BTW, I think he's been back there before. But I stand to be corrected on that.

The positive with Dez is his leaping ability so I could see him back there in a Hail Mary situation.

Absolutely. Thats the primary reason he should be back there.

Who would you rather have? Dez or Jeff Heath?

Good idea. But he's not playing.

Put Dez back there. He's very good with the ball in the air. The problem with Witten is that he can't jump.
I thought everybody knew that white guys can't jump...:)

I saw Chris Carter talking about it yesterday and he said that of the reasons why DBs have not been properly defending Rodger's Hail-Mary's is that Rodgers throws the ball 45 yards off the ground up in the air (in addition to the distance to the end zone) and his Hail Mary's essentially drop from the sky almost like they would from a short and high punt. Defensive Backs are not particularly good at tracking balls that are OVER their heads -- 99% of the time they track balls coming at them.

I thought it was an interesting conversation on why Rodgers has hit 75-80% of these recently rather than the standard 2-3%.

Obviously luck plays a huge part of any successful Hail-Mary. Having said that I'm fascinated that someone may have found a better way to do it.. maybe.

Rodgers has completed 4 out of his last 5 Desperation / Hail-Mary type of plays in the past 15 months -- good for 4 TDs and 1 interception.

Cowboys are winning 35-31 in the 4th quarter with 1 second left on the clock. Packers have the ball on the 50.

You are the coach -- what do you have the defense do?

My personal opinion is I am putting Dez, Williams, and maybe even Witten in the end-zone to help knock it down.
You tell the defense to KNOCK THE ******* BALL DOWN. It's really that simple.

Play the ball, like a deep pop fly to center field. Everyone's eyes should be on that football and nothing else......catch it or knock it down with some umph!

Dez Bryant, Brice Butler, Escobar, Byron Jones stand in the end zone and knock that ball twenty yards into the stands when it comes crashing into the end zone.

Why bother with pint sized corners? It's a jump ball you don't have to be a db to make that play.

Bring in Rico Gathers
My secondary would consist of Rico Gathers, Dez Bryant, Byron Jones, and Cole Beasley (OK maybe not him, but he can dunk lol).

Who else has hops on this team? Maybe Escobar, just because he's tall.

- Send 5

- Keep everything in front

If all else fails, hope the refs aren't too far down Rodger's jockstrap to miss the obvious offensive PI

Send 3 rushers. Drop 9 in the end zone. Should be a 2-1 DB to receiver ratio. If double coverage on every receiver doesn't work, then you're destined to lose anyways.

Send a cornerback on a blitz.
3 rushers and everyone else dropping back.
