Dak doesn't like to make those throws.
If he's going to ' throw caution to the wind' I'd rather see him leg it & run the ball a bit more, than seeing him commit to a situation he obviously see's the negative downside in his minds eye before he throws it, why else would he have reservations?,,, we've all but abandoned the middle of the field in the pass attack,,,man! I keep circling back to visions of Jerry Rice just lighting the grass on fire on those slants/skinny postso_O

How about throwing in some corner and slants routes or the occasional out and up?

Defenders are playing off him and just waiting for him to make a cut in or out. They have to throw in some other routes to keep defenders off balance. Just cause you aren't fast doesn't mean you can't get open down field.

Get better Beasley, you think Julian Edelman doesn't get covered "differently". We have such weak ***** on this team, makes me sick.

I am with you, bloke. ...
Well, not with you like a couple but with you as two manly men who love football, a manly sport for manly me. Ahem.
Section, methinks our weak sister players just emulate their milqtoast HC.
I have written Santy Claus to ask him for a fire-breathing HC like Harbaugh of Michigan and I guarantee even our marginal players would play a more spirited game. Or else.

It all goes back to accountability. Think Landry, Johnson and fat boy Parcels.

It seems like we have too many one trick ponies in the stable. Witten, Beas, and Dez run a very limited amount of routes and all 3 have trouble beating single coverage. Williams might be our most complete wide receiver, which is sad.
Or maybe we have one trick ponies calling plays.

Here is a big clue as to EXACTLY what has happened to this offense. Zeke was tearing it up last year. The Oline was healthy and playing great. In Dak's first year he threw to the guys that got open.

Get open consistently: Beasley and Witten

Get open inconsistently: Dez and Williams

And its clear, that Dak likes to throw to guys that are actually open and typically over the middle. Brady seems to be the same way with the over the middle stuff.

In pops 2017. Teams have had time to study not only Dak, but this offense. Zeke is suspended and the Oline is banged up and not as good. So they were able to focus on Dak. So this year they started double teaming Beasley and taking Witten away. So Dak is left with having to force into a blanketed Dez or a single covered and blanketed Williams.

Its an adjustment for him. He could probably just focus on those two guys last year and with the running game and have no issues. Much more adversity this year and he has to adjust. And hopefully we can get some better receivers in here where they can all get open.

I have no statistic to back this up but most inexperienced qbs throw to the tight end most often. I think it's because the te is closest to them that being said, the slot wideout is second closest. Those throws are the easiest reads and the quickest throws. Defenses saw this so they did exactly what you're supposed to do, take away what he's most comfortable with.

The opposing team's tactics worked on Beasley and Witten even when Zeke was playing, the coaching staff just don't seem to have a "what if" plan. It's up to Dak, Dez and Twill to make them pay for this tactic, so far they have not.

Dak was an MVP candidate through the first 8 games. Take away his OT and sack him a dozen times, and his production plummets. Offense dips from its top-of-the-league production as a result. Before that, this wasn’t much of an issue.

Tyron comes back and protection improves and the offense is productive again.

Meanwhile, the defense still can’t stop anybody for four quarters, which has been the problem all along. And we still get threads about play calling and offensive adjustments. Why? I don’t know.

Because Dak's production has changed since Zeke left.

11-22 for 104 and 2 tds? Really? If we hadn't won he may be in fear of being benched.

What’s that Get you in terms of QB rating? In the 90s probably. Not many guys averaging that getting benched in this league.

So, if your qb throws at a 50% clip and 1664 yards for the year, you'd say that you don't need to up grade. Something funny I just thought about, with those season stats some here would still ask why Dez doesn't have 88-1300 and 12tds. Lol

He produced ok last week. It was more the OL issues than having the RB missing.

Can't agree with you on this one Idgit. Completing 50% of your passes for 100yds is not good numbers for a QB in this pass happy NFL. Under 60% completion percentage is below par these days.

However, most important was the win and the fact that he had no turnovers. I'll take those numbers for the next four games as long as they win. Hell, he can go thru the playoffs (should they make it of course) with those numbers as long as wins come along with it.

Of course not. But you don’t take the worst part of a agame and amplify it and suggest that’s what you were looking for. It was an unusual game without a ton of passing, but the QB was still effective, as the rating indicated in the end. He’s played a lot better than that game, but it wasn’t a terrible game for him the way the three prior losses were.

The issue is, the inept coaching staff are running the same routes for Beasley and Witten, and hasn't figured out how to adjust, or change things up. Beasley's route tree. Slant, 2-yard cut, 2-yard cut and reverse. That's it.
Would love to see some TE screens.

But no speed there now that Rico is gone.

Even then..

He's not fast either.

Linehan was not going to call anybody out. He just pick a simple issue that he thought the media/fans would understand.

The dropping Linemen does not happen a large number of time per game. I might count the next time I review the All-22. It's probably less than 10% of pass plays.

Jason Garrett probably watches the all-22.. you know what? He still sucks and is clueless..

We all know you have a Romo pillow, but for the sake of the board, all you have to do is say it once and we get it. You don't have to go from thread to thread telling people you love Romo and hate Dak. We heard you the first time.

I know... your bothered by the fact the QB you defended so heavily at the expense of Romo is stinking up the joint a large portion of the time..

You are neither here nor there!
You are tearing me apart!!!!!
(Did you get the WWII French army rifle? It is pristine, govnor! Never been fired and only dropped once when the ***** invaded! On the other hand, the French resistance counterpart didn't survive. When the bullets ran out, this stock was used as a projectile and the metal parts were used as explosives shrapnel. I also am eyeing DeGalle's favorite tea set used 1939-45 while he was ensconced in England. What a great leader from afar!)
