Talent has never been a issue with the Cowboys. It's their attitude and mental approach that have been questioned over the years _ especially with the team missing the playoffs in each of the last three years and winning just one playoff game since 1996.

Coach Jason Garrett has made a point of getting the Cowboys to play with the right approach and focus throughout camp.

And those are the things that have owner Jerry Jones most excited about the Cowboys after five weeks of training camp.

"I think the competitive spirit," Jones said. "The combative approach. The way these teams have brought a lot of energy, brought a lot of if you will fight. I think all of that is very effective and they’ve got a real sense of win or lose out there when they’re working red zone plays or it’s the offense against the defense. And it’s showing. I think that Jason deserves the credit for creating that dynamic between the defense and the offense and encouraged it with his opening remarks. I think he set the tone for what it is we want to see guys do on this practice field and it wasn’t just physical. It’s about getting out here and having an attitude that is a good football attitude which is get mad about it, keep your head, but remember it’s a physical game and play physical. So I think we’re seeing that in camp. And that would be the No. 1 thing I saw. A very physical camp even though the way we structure camps nowadays we have only one padded practice, we’ve gotten as physical as you can get under the rules that we’re practicing under."
