thats my point too. Let me be clear because you have always been stand up. Thats exactly what im asking both sides. I am against Ware coming back. I didnt care that he left, but i understood why. Both sides lose out on this. One, the progress stopper crowd, there is no one to progress stop, and the other side because we dont have a solid Qb killer.
I legitimately don't get the point your making other than you're against him coming back. The rest, I'm trying to figure out. Sorry.

I didn't realize we had to do one or the other.

What do you expect them to do instead?

There are not many top FAs available and we all know Dallas wasn't likely to bid for them anyway.

It's either sign someone like Ware or Long, resign someone like Crawford or don't sign any and just draft one. You got other realistic options lay them out.

My preference, which I believe is feasible, would be to sign Ware and then work the first round to draft one. Then we have Ware, Mayowa, Lawrence, Draft Pick, Irving and Tapper to try to find enough of a pass rush at end.

Ware and McCown will be our only free agent signings
There is a kinda subreddit clan going around about josh McCown and how he is cursed/ black cloud of bad luck,,also everything he comes into contact with pretty much turns to s**t,,,,

Like any free agent, do it if the price is right. If he wants, big, long term dollars, forget it.

He would be a situational guy. I don't see whose progress he would be stopping. He, Lawrence and Tapper can rehab their backs together. How adorable.

Signing Ware does not preclude the Cowboys from also drafting one in the first round if he is the BPA.

Come on back home. We can use you for the 10 games you're healthy.
would love this if they could get him in Dallas because it wouldnt block the growth of a guy like Mayowa. People seem to be ignoring the fact that mayowa had his first realy action last yr instead of garbage time what he had most of his career. Think Dallas really has something in Irving and Mayowa

Nothing. Hope to find value in the draft. You have a healthy Lawrence and Tapper next year. Bringing in a broken down Ware doesn't interest me in the least.

I'll take him back.............................. if he's really, really cheap. But if I have to pay him $5MM a year, I'd rather scrape together $3-4MM more and get a player who will help us even more.

Oh, so you believe doing nothing is better than bringing in Ware for cheap as a rotation player.

I disagree with you. The only way I see bringing in Ware being worse than doing nothing is if we don't try to also find value in the draft. With Tapper and Lawrence both having back issues, we're better off with Ware, draft pick, Mayowa and Irving being our other options than draft pick, Mayowa and Irving IMO.

I believe that Ware can add what Long did for New England or what Freeney did for Atlanta. In fact, all of their numbers were similar last year.

They would probably give him around $9 million over a couple of years, with the first year in the $3 million range and the second year bloated some. Probably about $3 million of that would be bonus money, which means the team would either take a $1.5 million hit to release him next year or pay him about $6 million. If he plays well, you pay him or renegotiate to add a year. If not, you take the hit.

When Ware first left the Cowboys he talked about retiring as a Cowboy. of course I was thinking that like other players they sign the 1 day contract and retire as a member of the Cowboys. Now if he can come in and help provide a pass rush even in limited snaps like Peppers does in GB it would still be a big bonus for the Cowboys
