Ware is done

Disagree.

The key for these older guys is keeping them healthy.

D. Ware can still be a huge addition to this team but we don't need him out there playing 60 snaps.

Also, our offense is good at keeping the ball so not only will he get less snaps but he will play for a team that will keep the defense off the field.

It's a perfect match imo and I think we should be all over this.

Even if we only use the guy at the end of halfs I think it would be huge for our defense.

All good points and I agree with you 100%.

But didn't Ware say he wanted to stay in a 3-4? I'm sure he'd rather come home. But thought I heard that somewhere

I believe that to be true.

But look at it this way, if he came to Dallas I doubt he'd have more than like 350 snaps and those would be on passing downs and I doubt it would matter to Marinelli if Ware had his hand on the ground or played the DE position standing up...

It's going to be all about rushing the passing.

I agree. I have been predicting Ware signing for awhil. My predictions were our two big signings being aware and maybe Cordalle Patterson because his college coach is here and maybe bringing in Logan.

We aren't going to spend a ton of money on free agents. Dollar for dollar, Ware might give you the best value if used correctly. Not to mention I believe he will never be more motivated coming back home to go out on top with the team that drafted him. Veterans dream of that opportunity. Even though it didn't work out, Charles Woodson is a good comparasion.

If he's primarily used on passing downs, his role is essentially the same. It's getting hammered as a down lineman in the run game that is really tough on defensive ends his size. He's always played the run well, but it wears on you.

Exactly.

I would love to see Ware back with us and he would be pivotal to our current defense, only question is how much money he will cost us and you would have to think any deal would be heavily incentive based regarding the output he gives us and being able to stay on the field etc.

Get it done Jerry and welcome home D Ware!

My thought as well......Dude is falling apart and needs to hang his hat.

As a situational pass rusher with our current offense he will be a good fit and this team is nothing like the one he exited from.

His days of an every down player are gone but that is not to say he is no good for us and he will command attention from opposing offensive lines freeing up others to get to the QB.

Do you think Ware has anything left in the tank?

If his back is up to it... Yeah. I would think he may have lost a little speed but now he has experience. I think he offers more than Freeney or Peppers.
He was a fantastic Passrusher in his prime in Dallas. He should certainly be better than Freeny or Peppers. Although, Peppers is a durable guy. I don't know if he has ever been seriously injured? Anyway, l have a soft spot for DeMarcus.

Agreed I also think he could have a positive impact among the younger guys and help them develop. If he comes on a 2 year 10 million deal we would be crazy not to pursue him. He's not done, historically the best pass rushers still have made an impact beyond 34..

I'd be stunned if Dallas went that high on Ware (2 for $10 mil). I think if Dallas signed him it would be for less.
