Had we drafted Romo and he started as a rookie, at this early point in his career we would say he's still developing. Why does he not get that benefit now?
If he wasn't developing, what was he doing over the first 3.5 years of his career?

Very telling article. But it is certain to fall on deaf ears. The Romo haters just have to be new Cowboys' fans, otherwise they would remember the Hogebooms, Pelleurs, Sweeneys, Colliers, Walshs, Laufenbergs, Musgraves, Banks, Carters, Wrights, Stoerners, Leafs, Hutchinsons, Hensons, Testaverdes, Bledsoes, Bollingers. And who can forget Brad Johnson?

Youve opened a flood gate of repressed memories!! Wheres the bleach!

so this guy is going to insist he was boo'd at the u2 concert also.

I was at camp this year for a couple of practices, I heard the exact opposite reaction when he came out of the tunnel.

Id say he in fact was developing otherwise he wouldnt have been nearly as effective as he has been since he was named the starter.

Then why would he need the benefit of the doubt for coming up small in big games?

Well thats easy. T.O. hit the wall about mid season last year and downhill from there. Smart move to remove him. However he was playing at a high level his other seasons here. Age is a problem.Look at M.Harrison.

I guess Lee Evans hit that same wall.

He led two game winning drives up the field in the 4th qtr in front of one of the loudest stadiums in the league in that seattle game.

Witten fumbled at the 1. the defense got the ball back and we drove right back down inside the 5.

What part of coming up small is that from the qb?

You're kidding me, right? Are you honestly claiming that Romo didn't choke away that game?

I think the writer of this article pointed that out to you. He's still a young developing QB. Sure his playoff bids have been dissapointing but after only 3 seasons of starting hasnt he showed you enough promise to have a little faith?

the quarterback did his job in that game.

The placeholder dropped the ball. Just like yours did in sf in 2002.

Just crazy luck on that play. But the qb did his job, unless you think its romo's fault witten fumbled at the 1, and if so I would love to hear tha explanation.

He dropped the ball at the most important time.lol.He is a good QB just cant handle pressure.Unfortunately to win the big games u gotta be a cool customer till the bell rings. He is just not an athlete in general that can handle pressure. He is probably like that in golf too.Its mental.Maybe he can overcome this. Its not looking good however.

Hey look, a Giants fan. We'd be asking you the same question about Eli if it weren't for a miracle catch by Tyree and a handful of shoulda-been interceptions by NE.

Also, sitting on the bench watching Testaverde and Deadslow throw interceptions for 3.5 years isn't 'developing'.

as the placeholder he had a fluke play.

The qb led the offense right down the field on back to back drives in the 4th qtr on the road in a playoff game.

it happens. No one ever talks about witten fumbling at the 1. We would have had first and goal at the 1. We would have score a TD without question.

its funny seeing a giants fan not understand this, if he has always been a giants fan he should know crazy plays on special teams happen sometime. Like sean landetta whiffing on his punt in chicago in 85, trey darilek's horrible snap against the niners in 02 Etc...

Crazy plays happen.

Actually, I blame Parcells for the Seattle bobble. No other coach in the league would make his starting QB keep being the holder because he's too afraid to change it up.
