Star Mag: Tony Romo - The Numbers Don't Lie

I don't remember Witten fumbling at the 1 late in the game. I remember he was stopped short of the first down, and the refs reviewed the play to determine his forward progress. Also, Julius Jones had as much to do with the success of that drive as Tony did. His 35-yard run was critical.

He dropped the ball at the most important time.lol.He is a good QB just cant handle pressure.Unfortunately to win the big games u gotta be a cool customer till the bell rings. He is just not an athlete in general that can handle pressure. He is probably like that in golf too.Its mental.Maybe he can overcome this. Its not looking good however.

look back at how many big games Romo has played and see how many he he choked in--not many--the cowboys lost some of them but fault is not Romo's

If Romo's stats are so inflated by some WR, how come he's already had 2 games over 350 yards passing and 2 more over 250 yards passing? He must be Superman to pull that off without a life preserving, stat inflating WR.

Both Witten plays happened. You may not remember it, but Witten did fumble at the 1.

And yes, that was a big run by Julius.

Must be why Jerry paid all that money to super coordinator JG.

He must have cleanly recovered it, because that's not what the refs reviewed on that play.

Aw, you have no point so time to change the subject.

#1 Offense in the NFL. Look it up and look up who the Coordinator is. Enlighten your life for a change.

He fumbled earlier in the game around midfield, but not at the one.

You know Hos...none of the haters care about stats until well...the stats suck then stats become important.

Even you should know how 'impressive' that is after 5 games. Lets be real. Tampa Bay and KC might have worst Defenses in league. Get back at me in week 17.

Nothing bothers me more than the touting of #1 this and #1 that after such a short time period. Based on the history then, we must really suck in December then statistically. See how that elevates our #1 ranked offense when we go to New Orleans on Dec 19 and Giants Stadium on Dec 6. Really going to effect those rankings.

Witten did not fumble the ball at the 1 yard line in the Seattle play off game. He had a fumble earlier in the game, but it was not at the 1 yard line. It was around the 30 or 40 yard line of Seattle.

Tony Romo has won his last 2 starts at Giants Stadium.

You want impressive? I got your stats inflating impressive right here.

6 games. 11 receptions. 214 yards. 1 TD.

2009 Projections if he plays all 16 games.

40 receptions. 573 yards. 3 TDs.

There's your stats inflation crap right in your smug face.

Yep all true. Witten was stopped at the 1, I confused myself there. The fumble was earlier.

Here it is from the NFL gamebook.

# Dallas Cowboys at 03:50(1st quarter)
# 1-10-DAL 41 (3:50) J.Jones right end to DAL 43 for 2 yards (R.Bernard, J.Peterson).
# 2-8-DAL 43 (3:50) (Shotgun) PENALTY on DAL-F.Adams, False Start, 5 yards, enforced at DAL 43 - No Play.
# 2-13-DAL 38 (2:50) T.Romo pass incomplete short right to T.Glenn.
# 3-13-DAL 38 (2:45) (Shotgun) T.Romo pass deep right to J.Witten to SEA 43 for 19 yards (M.Boulware). FUMBLES (M.Boulware), RECOVERED by SEA-P.Hunter at SEA 42. P.Hunter to SEA 42 for no gain (T.Owens).

How is this for some career inflated stats:

54.4 Completion percentage, 963 yards, 3 TDs, 5 INTs, 64.5 QB rating.

Theebs it is a waste of time. Seattle game...no one mentions the fumble at the 1 (by Glenn BTW not Witten) which resulted in a safety and the ball.
Followed by our defense giving up a 37 yard TD to a JAG TE.

No one mentions that until last year the only reason Ben R had hardware was because his defense bailed him out. Put up one of the worst performances a QB has ever had in a Super Bowl.

Nevermind that Eli was the benefactor of a scramble for his life, throw the ball up for grabs into triple coverage that somehow miraculously got caught by Tyree and not intercepted play.

If Romo does that exact same play but instead of miracle of miracles, it gets intercepted like it should have the argument would be how much of a bone head Romo is and he will never win the big one and blah blah blah.

It just gets really old.

your confusing plays. Glenn fumbled at our 1. Witten fumbled at the seattle 1 on the drive before the botched field goal. We went right down the field twice and got zero points because of the two mistakes.

off the top of my head I think witten fumbled in the second quarter too.

My bad...I was thinking of our own endzone.

Yep i had a chance to grab my ipod and scroll through that 4th and I remembered thing backwards.

Witten fumbled earlier, after a goal line stand by the defense glenn fumbled at the 1. Seattle scored and we went down the field and witten was stopped at the 1, then the botched field goal.

the big swing was the 3rd and 1 from the 10 with about 9 minutes to and not getting the first, then kicking a field goal instead of scoring a td. 20-13 is alot different than 24-13.

For some reason I confused that field goal drive in the 4th as later..Not sure why.
