What do you mean keeping Emmitt. You say this in hindsight because of the longevity of his career. But no in the moment i'm happy not paying RBs top dollar on their 2nd contracts. I'll probably miss out on the Emmitt's but I also won't sign/draft the Cedric Bensons, Cadillac Williams and Trent Richardsons of the world.

I mean that was not the perception when they were drafted....

Benson went 4th overall. Williams went 5th overall. Trent beat them both when he went 3rd overall.

Easy to say they stink now. But at the time these were guys supposed to be superstars.

It doesn't take long to realize it. I knew they weren't good within a year.
